I have done a couple of full details over the past few weeks and the cars still look great 3 weeks later. Either my skill level has really improved or my product choice is much better. I talk with these customers when I see them and they say they havent done anything to the cars since a last took care of them. Does any one elese have this type of situation. Please share.

Most all the cars that I have cleaned still look good a few weeks or month or two later.....It really depends on if the customer has taken care of the finish....my neighbor is one with a black Jag...that sits outside....it still looks OK but she doesn't wash the car much

That is one of the benefits of getting good information (Especially from this site). There are two kinds of detailers.

The ones who cover up and The ones who reveal. I guess what I'm saying is that the focus of this site is based on the true results of a good detail as opposed to just using some type of filler waxes that cover imperfections.

I normally tell my customers that I'm taking them back some years close to when they purchased the car originally. What we do doesn't wash away like it does at other shops. I've seen cars that i have done a year ago still pop.

Since I expanded my product line and tips from this site, my skill over the last 8 months has improved to a ridiculous level. I'm ashamed of great work I did last year. :0

Last year I was hung up on rarely geting any customers so I placed a listing in the yellow pages and I have been getting a nice return on my investment. 2 full details per week not bad for a part time operator. and I just take my time and do the best job that I can. I have adopted a more relaxed attitude and its helping.:D

As children we played car wash as men we detail. Growth is a wonderful thing. I still have nightmares about what I thought was a good detail 2-3 years ago. I wake up in cold sweats sometimes.

I see 3 cars I detailed about 2 months ago, every day at work. It's cool too, b/c they each recieved the same treatment but each are taken care of differently. One is rarely washed (once every two weeks at best by a swirl-omatic), another is washed about once a week or so, and another is washed about every 3 or 4 days. All look excellent when washed, but especially the one that's washed the most. It basically looks like I just did all the work a couple days ago, when it's been over 2 months now.
