Depends which Menzerna or PB's polishes you are talking about. I've used Menzerna FP II with a PC and it works just fine. However, it's hard to beat PB's SSR1, 2, and 2.5 for use with a PC... very easy, with excellent performance. A good one-two punch would be SSR2.5 and FP II.

Can't go wrong with either, but I would go with Poorboys if you haven't used similar products before.

I've used PB and Menzerna products, and have gotten very
good results with both, whether by PC or rotary. That said,
I think PB is a much more user friendly product line. PB products
(specifically SSR2.5, SSR1, and PWC) seem to provide for a bit
leeway in user error.

Another vote for the SSR line, however, this is not in comparison to using the Menzerna line (which I have not). I just vote that way due to the ease of use and user friendliness of the SSR line.

I totally agree..... SSR2.5 and FPII to clean up and haze/marring is an awesome combo.

I've used both product lines (Poorboy's SSR2.5 and Menzerna IP and FPII) and I think starting off with SSR2.5 & finishing up with FPII is one way to go that'll give you great results.

IMHO, I think SSR2.5 cleaned-up the surface better than IP (used an orange LC pad with both) and left it looking so good I was tempted to go right to LSP but I passed. I'm committed to no shortcuts so I followed-up with FPII which left the surface squeaky clean & ready for the LSP.

Another option is 3m Fine Cut Rubbing Compound. Very
potent stuff, and very versatile. It can be used with
wool, heavy cut, med cut, light cut, and polish pads.
If you want to get a harder reflection out of the paint,
this an excellent product to startoff with.

I second the Optimum Polish suggestion. It's just one of the better polishes I have ever worked with.

Is there really a need for SSR3 for a weekend warrior?

Yeah, if you have a car that has been washed with a Bon Ami rag. :rofl That's exactly what happened to me, I used SSR3 and it worked like a charm. It just left some hazing, which is completely understandable. Took me a little time to remove the hazing, but it was well worth it. It has it's place in a non-professional's arsenal IMO. It's one of those things you'll forget you have, but when the time comes, you'll be glad you have it in your cabinet.

It doesn't hurt to have SSR2.5 and SSR2. (and SSR1 for that matter) Try the SSR2 on the area you want to polish... if it removes all or most of the swirls in two complete passes (work the area fully once.. then work the area again) then it's all the polish you need at that point in time. If after one or two complete passes it hasn't done much for the swirls... move up to the SSR2.5 and maybe a more aggressive pad.

NOTE: If I only had the money to buy one of them, I would get the SSR2.5
