whats the best way to clean off polish sling and left over residue without marring the surface? sometimes, its on there pretty damn good.:waxing:

IPA (alcohol) and a quality microfiber (like you use for polishing/waxing). It is good to do this after polishing, before applying the LSP to make sure the polish corrected, instead of filling in perfections.

If you can, get it off before it dries completely.

I've been using ONR (thanks to Totoland Mach for the idea) to clean it off instead of my usual #34 and it's worked out quite well.

Another thing I normally do after my wipe down and final polishing is done is to re-wash (power wash) the entire vehicle. I make sure to blast all the cracks are crevises to insure everything is flushed out and completely gone.

David, when I first read that, well I thought damn - another hour to wash and dry, but after thinking about it. I decided that on some details where there was a lot of polishing done, that it would be faster than to try to clean it with a MF and QD. It sure would help making sure the paint was clean before the LSP. I've had a (My Name is Earl) experience lately when it comes to details, I can work faster due to better products and technique, but I add steps in to make it as perfect as possible - so I'm back to the same amount of time. I just want to do great details - my name is ...

Alot of times no matter how much wiping, taping and covering you do, polish still finds it's way into the smallest of places that powerwashing can easily fix. Even if you do spend an hour doing this, it certainly pays off in the end result.
