Best Wax

My explorer has the Ivory Pearl Metallic paint. I really want to make the metallic pop. What wax, glaze, sealent, would be best for this. I would also like to achieve a deep wet look.

Check over in click & brag for light colored details. Some more recent popular choices for each have been Four Star UPP for a sealant (really tough to go wrong with UPP), Clearkote Vanilla Moose Wax Hand Glaze is a good glaze, and is Optimum Spray & Wipe Car Wax or original PB's Natty's.

there is no such thing as a best wax IMHO. for flake pop I avoid glazes becuase I believve they hide flake for me. I really like pinnacle signature for flake pop. NXT, #21 and other waxes have given me nice pop as well.

Proper prep, I will be using SSR 1-3 which ever one the paint needs. I am going to follow this procedure: Wash, Clay, either QD or Wash again, Polish, glaze, protect, and then wax.

If you want the metal flakes pop on a light colored car, nothing works better than Megs #7 Glaze and then top it off with a wax to protect it like NXT Tech Wax or even better if you can get it, Meg's #16.

i know the cleaners in nxt aren't THAT strong, but are they still strong enough to remove the glazing oils in #7? Would #26 be a better choice (I have both available to me)?

I've applied #7 followed by NXT using a PC and it's a noticible difference between that and just apply NXT. I'm not a fan of #26, personally I would use #16, better reflectivity and longer lasting. There are still some places that carry it like West Marine.

There are so many good choices you will have a hard time picking one.

For metallic flake pop, my personal suggestions are tropicare TC-3 or mothers reflections advanced car wax. Both of them will look great, but by no means they are the only ones. Some others prefer UPP, some others prefer Z2 pro, EX-P, etc. Let's wait for more folks to suggest.

I think you need to inform us about the state of you paint and HOW DEEP you want to fall in the addiction ;)
