Best Wax under $50.00

What wax do you like best for under $50.00.

Do you use a different product in the winter for more durability?

Do you prefer one product for dark colors, and a different one for light colors?

Same line of questions for sealers too.

Who is the winner: EX, EX-P, UPP, WG, BF, SG?

Under $50? You can get EVERY wax under $50 except overpriced Zymol!

I'd say the three Souveran wax products. On sale, Souveran paste can be purchased for under $50.

There's also s100, #16, Carnauba Moose, #26, Trade Secret, Nattys, 1Z Glanz, 3M Show Car Wax, etc...

Get the point :p There are a TON of good waxes to choose from.

Remember it's ALL ABOUT SURFACE PREP!!!!! :xyxthumbs

I can put Turtle Wax on an awesomely prepped car and it'll look killer. Likewise I can put Souveran on a swirled, un-clayed surface without polishing and it'll look poopy-pants.

Agree that 90% of "the looks" comes from surface prep. I have a black tahoe and white CTS. PS wax looks fantastic on the Tahoe (but it's quite expensive). Past that most of the others that I've tried are pretty close. I don't have the $$ or space to try everything. Just trying to collect info. on good sealer/wax combo's for my next order. For now, it'll be called my wish list.

stevet: Thanks for the repoly.

I've tried SG several times but find it a royal pain to work with. It takes hours to set up, usually have to use QD spray to remove, and it's very time consuming. The trade off is that the end result is pretty nice. I'll probably limit my use for winter applications only.

From what I've read here and at DC, it seems that UPP is the latest and greatest. (easy to work with, long lasting, very slick, nice reflective qualities).

I just received the WG sealer, and love it. How does WG compare to the others out there?

As far as carnubas go #16 for durability @12.00 is a great price. For the pop SOUVERN 59.99 get 10%off is a great deal.NATTY"S @15 bucks is a good choice also.

SLEEPER........3M Show Car Wax all of this doesnt count if the car is not prepped corectly

Agreed! Personally, I like S100 for the look, and 1Z Glanz for ease of application and durability (and to a lesser extent, the look). I also like Blitz Wax for shine and durability.

If you are lookin for durability get #16. If you are lookin for depth and gloss get Nattys. And if you are lookin for overall durability, and look go for p21s.

I like s100 due to the fact it is VERY easy to apply and whipe off after a regular wash.

#16 is verynice also and it lasts for months

NXT tech wax is not so bad if your looking for a OTC product

PoorBoys EX-P is also great also and to me smells like cookies!!

What are the parameters in your definition of 'the best'? Without knowing, it is hard to say.

Best appearance would be Paste Glaz, S100 or Carnauba Moose

Most durable would be #16 or Collinite

Best compromise would be #16 or Natty's.

Durability and appearance: Zaino or Klasse

Carnauba- based: Pinnacle Souveran or Poorboy's EX

All grading based on applying to a meticulously prepped vehicle. :wavey

I appreciate everyone's input. Good stuff.

What do I mean by the best? Yea I know, everyone has different tastes, but here's a shot as describing what I'm looking for:

What's best during the summer months when I'm more concerned with the look, less so with the protection & durability?

In the winter I want maximum protection and durability.

Product ease of use (I use a Dewalt849 for compound/polish), and a PC for most everything else.

Results: What looks good on black and what looks good on white. I've seen some fricken amazing work on this site and DC. Especially in black. Pro's like Anthony Orosco, Clean Dean, Scottwax, and 6']['9 (and I'm sure there are many other stellar pros on this site too).

I have a black Tahoe and a white CTS, so I'll probably use something slightly different on each.

Right now the products I use most often are (no specific order):

Menzerna Intensive Polish

Menzerna Final Polish or/ Final Polish II

Klass AIO & SG

Wolfgang Sealer (forget the exact name).

From time to time I use Pinnacle Souvern (usually in the summer, and only on the black) or 3M SCW.
