Best Wax to use over Modesta ??

Please help me out with some information. I am trying to find what is the best wax to use over a coating like Modesta or Opticoat Pro, and how long it lasts.

My thoughts are, wax is not going to last over Modesta for long, as it will not adhere to it. Basically, isn't coatings designed so that things do not adhere to it?

But this other guy, will call him "buddie", claims that he uses wax over his Modesta BC-05 coating and it lasts for months, even after washings and rain. He said thousands and thousands of people have been sticking wax to Modesta and have had zero problems.

The wax he uses are Pinnacle Black Label, Sonax Premium, Chemical Guys 5050, and Auto Finesse Illusion, according to him.

So does wax stick to Modesta? How long does it last? Is it even worth doing?

Thank you all in advance! Sorry if these are dumb questions.

I will never use a wax/sealant over a coating. I did test it - the issue is not whether the wax lasts or not, you will cover up the properties of the coating. Let the other guy do what he does. YOU let the coating do what it was designed to do.

Why after spending insane money on modesta would you want to wax it? Try Kamikaze overcoat if you feel the need to put something over it,that is what it was designed to do.

Nothing. You,will mess up the look and you won't gain any durability. You really missed the point if your asking this question.

So, don't wax over Modesta, because it will actually look worse? I didn't think it would stick to it for long, but didn't realize it would actually look worse.

I'm a newb to coatings, sorry for the dumb questions.

It's not dumb. Sorry if my response was less than welcoming. I'm sorry. Coatings are a higher end finish. The ones mentioned by you are ultra durable and IMHO better looking than any wax or sealant. They most likely won't stick but I've never tried.

Coat your car with either and enjoy easy maintenance

Try Polish Angel Rapidwaxx. I've never used it on Modesta, but it works great on Gloss-Coat.

Ray, what sort of durability you see with rapidwaxxx over a coating?

To the original OP, instead of wax you should actually look for coating compatible toppers. Even modesta has one that I believe you are supposed to apply every 6 month to keep the coating going (iirc).
Others options "could" be carpro reload , angelwax has a few offerings and kamikaze overcoat is making the rounds too.
