Best wax/polish process to use on a VW

I have Zaino and I really don't like it for some cars. The only car where it really works well is on my father's blue Jeep Cherokee.

I have some, so I'll give it a shot.

hmm....Either Blackfire or P21S. Decisions Decsions....

Maybe your using too much......You have to use a VERY little amount.

Go to the Zaino site and download "Tips and Tricks"

It is all free......You can even call them with questions.

YoSteve,

I believe I chimed in early with the Klasse AIO, SG and P21S/S-100 recipe for my new beetle. Use it on all my german cars, even those made in Mexico. It's hard to beat.

Using a polymer shouldn't be of concern to you even in the northeast, IF you are someone that doesn't mind waxing once per month. P21S and #26 are fine, but will require frequent applications to provide any protection. Sure, a polymer will give you more protection, but it depends on your situation too. Will the car have a garage space, etc?

If my M3 wasn't garaged, I'd be using a polymer for the winter. Since it is, I'm sticking with my monthly routine of #7 and P21S. Can't beat the shine and ease of use with P21S/S100.

Good luck!

Ditto on the vwvortex.com site - that's where I just came from - figured i could learn a little more over here than "which was is best?"

I just ordered some Blackfire. Seems with the new formula people are getting great results. And the durability is excellent from what I read.

Thanks guys.

And by the way, I swapped it to silver GTI with 17s and sport suspension instead of the grey one with 16s :D

11 days and counting :bounce

Actually, this GTI is coming from Germany. ;)

How are you getting one from Germany? Are you importing one? To my knowledge, all VW's for the states are manufactured in Mexico and Brazil. I know the Golf/GTI's are done in Brazil and the Jetta's in Mexico. Not sure about the Passat's or the Beetles.

Golf is done in Brazil and Jettas are made in Mexico. Actually, all GTIs come from Germany as well as the Passat. Not sure about the beetle though...

But I also thought all VWs were made in South America till I looked it up.

You would be sorely Mistaken. Golf/GTI's all come from Brazil now unless you are buying a 2000 or early 2001 model.

hmm....Interesting. I could have sworn I read that somewhere that GTIs were made in Germany. The dealer even said this one is coming from Germany. Perhaps a shortage in Brazil or something and they had to get it over there. Perhaps he is wrong. Who knows....

You can tell where the VW is made by reading the VIN number.

E = Emden, Germany

P = Mosel, Germany

Actually, the first letter or # should tell you:

W = Germany

J = Japan

1 = USA

3 = Mexico

9 = Brazil

If you do a search on www.vwvortex.com there is a thread about it. My Passat was made in Germany!! :cool:
