best wash mitt

Got my first lambs wool yesterday going to give it a try when it warms up again..



Do you guys just hang them in the garage to dry?? With my microfiber it took a couple of days just making sure that will be fine for the wool also??
 
Lambswool for me too (eurow) on the paint and an mf mitt for the lowers.



I will try accumulator's 'seal the mitt' technique as I find it easier to hold rather than wear (especially with the thump). Now that I am thinking about it I may also fill the mitt with a sponge to give some padding and better handling.



Would like to try bhb (on wheels initially), but haven't found someone delivering to Greece yet on eBay.



Finally +1 on the air drying with turning inside out. I handwash it only with dove soap and lukewarm water.

Try filling it with shampoo solution too. By the time the solution has seeped out of the mitt it should probably be rinsed anyhow, and in the meantime the seepage will provide a little flushing and some additional lubrication.

I launder/machine dry my MF mitts, but I generally just rinse/wring out my sheepskin ones and lay them over the edge of a bucket. I air-dry my "good" mitts because I'll be putting them away, but the ones I dry don't seem to last appreciably longer than the ones I just leave damp :nixweiss Some last for ages, others don't and it doesn't seem related to how I treat them. Not sure *what* makes some last longer than others, even seemingly identical ones, treated exactly the same, can vary wildly in this regard.
 
some of these mitts that are out are too thick IMO and are overkill, not to mention when they get wet are heavy as well...

I was wondering about that myself :think:



Whatever works for somebody is cool with me, but I can see a few potential downsides (including being "too gentle" like some BHBs can be). Heh heh, if I thought a different mitt would improve my washes any, you can bet I'd be ordering :D



For people who aren't doing the "dislodge and flush" thing, I can see how a plusher mitt might be beneficial, so I don't want to sound like I'm all :nono: about such mitts. I just don't see how I'd benefit from the "features" given how I wash :nixweiss

Yeah, I find it takes a little doing to avoid applying too much pressure with a "normal" sheepskin mitt. Especially if it's filled with wash solution and I'm holding the cuff shut while spraying the point of contact with the foamgun. But again, that's just thinking of it related to how *I* do things.
