Best type of flashlight to spot fine swirls?

I have a metallic silver car that has some very fine swirls. Thing is, I can only see them at night under the lights of the parking structure where I work. I get home and can't spot them. I've looked under the flourescent in my garage and tried spotting them with a mag-lite - don't see a thing.

I'm going to be polishing this weekend and would like to be sure I get all the swirls out. Any suggestions on the best type of flashlight/portable light to spot the swirls? And no, there's no way I'm making the drive to work on the weekend just to check the progress. :p

Thanks for any info.

6 million candles of swirl-spotting power!

I also have a 500W halogen that works well.

I use a high-wattage incandescent trouble light from Lowe's with a 300W bulb. In an otherwise dark shop (that's important, turn out the other lights), try various illumination and viewing angles.

The whole "under weird lights at night" thing is what I was trying to duplicate, and these days I *love* looking at the S8 under those lights :D
