Best trim dye?

The mud flaps and some trim on my car has discolored of the life of the car. I used Mother's Back to Black, but it's just a dressing. I have looked at Forever Black Bumper Dye, but havent't tried it yet. They claim it's a dye that lasts for 2 to 3 years.



Does anyone have an suggestions?

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I will actually even remove the trim, there is one screw and a bunch of clips that hold it in.



Btw, what color is your E38? An E38 740iL will be my next car, hopefully sometime this year.

I used this on the plastic piece at the bottom of the windshield and the streaking was really bad. I preped the area well with the cleaner that comes in the kit but still very streaky.:nixweiss

Did you let it dry? Streaking is my number one concern...
 
I noticed no streaking. Was it applied too thickly? Too thinly? I'm not sure of the cause.



The 740i is anthracite metallic, sport model. I can post some pics if you would like. You will love the car if you get one :D

I cleaned the area. Applied thinly, let dry and applied another coat. It was very streaky so applied more coats and no improvement.
 
Just go up to CVS, Rite Aid or Wal Mart and get some black liquid shoe polish. Works great. Only $2.98. I restored both my black bumpers with it and looks great.
