What do u guys use with the RED pad for applying polish or sealant using PC 7424? Thanks...looking for something to use after i finish down with PO85rd

so your saying finish down with red pad w PO85rd instead of black/gray

It's not always that simple as making general recommendations because of all the variables we face. On most paints, the red pad and the black will create a very similar finish when used by a rotary in conjunction with the same polish. The main difference will be working time, as the slightly more aggressive black foam is going to break down the abrasives faster. If you use too soft of a foam, such as the Gold Concours, you may not be able to break down the abrasive at all.

In some conditions, and on some paints, the red pad may not provide enough action to break down the abrasives either. Sometimes it might be necessary to test each pad side by side and see if you notice a difference. Hypothetically, on very soft paints, the black pad might add to the hologramming effect from polishing, requiring a less aggressive pad.

So what is the red pad be used for?

You can use it for final abrasive polishing, as well as applying a non-abrasive polish, glaze, wax, or sealant. There is some overlap as the black pad can be used for this as well.

I tend to start with the black pad, and if I get hologramming from it then I will adjust my technique. If I still get hologramming I will switch to a red pad, and if that doesn't work, then it's time to either switch machines or polishes.

Please let me know if that answers your questions, if not I will try to do better!
