Die-hard Ridgid fan here... Had mine for 5 years now, and it still runs like the day I bought it. I bet it'll last another 5 years.

And boy does this thing SUCK!

The 'best', probably Alto's Wap vacuum. A bit expensive, but far superior. They are very powerful, but extremely quiet. I have had mine for over five years and it has stood up to daily use since then, with no problems. They have several different sizes.

Being Italian, I've always had my eye on a Wap vac. :sadpace: A detail friend of mine has one and loves it. I've always wanted one, but was always pull back by the RIGID's lifetime warranty. I've probably returned several dozen of them because my guys use to abuse the heck out of them. When I did return them, no questions asked.

Only they are not Italian made:) They are made in Germany. Anyways, it is the best vacuum I have ever used.

Just a note about Rigid vacuums and their warranty. I own 4 of the "contractor grade" wet/dry vacuums and all have broken in one way or another in the last 3 months. No big deal I will send them out to be fixed......but wait, they don't do that. All you can do is take them to Home Depot to be "inspected" by a Rigid employee who will then determine whether or not they will warranty the item under the "lifetime warranty". Apparently if you actually use the vacuum that constitutes "abuse" and they will neither fix the vacuum or warranty it. You can't even pay them to fix it! RIDICULOUS!
