Best Quick detialer

I am looking to buy a gallon of Quick detailer and want to make sure I get a good one. I am thinking of getting CG synthetic QD anyone think this is a bad idea?
 
What are you planning to do with th QD. If your going to use it as a multi purpose, clay lube or removing dust. I have had good luck with ONR. Dont really use it as Qd much, only in a pinch.



I have Meq quick detailer in the red spray cans. Bought about 15 cans of it. About a year ago big lots had them for $1.50 a can, couldnt pass them up.
 
Best I have used to date are:



- Clearkote: Quick Shine

- Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer



In that order.



Not sure if Quick Shine is available in gallon sizes. I know the Optimum is...



Now that I think about it, Griot's Garage Speed Shine Detailer has worked pretty good for me too. And it's available by the gallon.
 
I can't comment on many products as being "the best" but IMO OID is one of those products that is so good, nothing is close.



-It looks great on all colors and surfaces. It even adds a nice sheen to trim!

-It is slicker than pig snot. No other QD comes close to being as slick when being toweled on and off. Others may dry a bit slicker, and that is even debatable.

-Incredible value in the concentrated form

-Smells great
 
I have been using Griot's Speed Shine on my black S2K for the past three months. I have to say that it is the best qd that I have used on this car. I have never had it streak on me yet, which has been a problem with other quick detailers I have tried, including FK 425. And it seems to go well with the carnauba waxes I use. Its not too shiny. It enhances the wax; it does not turn it into a sealant look. I like the Speed Shine a lot.



I use the FK 425 on my wife's glacier blue CR-V. It works great. Love the slickness.



For clay lube I use Meg's Last Touch, diluted 1:1.

Yep, I love Speed Shine if you need a Carnauba type look. Great stuff and a pleasure to work with.

only one i've not bought by the gallon is the quick shine. i'll have to check and see if they sell it by the gallon.
 
I think I am between the GG speed shine and CG synthetic. I like the fact that CG has anti static properties because man do I hate dust.
 
My first reaction would be don't buy a gallon.



I think QDs (along with shampoos) are the 'tools' to try more often that the rest to find the best for *you*. They go faster and are involved on almost every wash, giving perhaps that subtle improvement that we all look for.



Price wise obviously I am fully on board as bulk=economy.



Also important is what you are looking for from your QD. Cleaning power, looks, durability, ease of use, wax top-up characteristics, antistatic properties etc?



I have tried FK425-DG951-1Z spray wax. My thoughts here http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/136234-fk425-why-dont-i-get-4.html. Planning on using ONR and GG speedshine in the future.



FK425 also makes antistatic claims and my experience shows decent performance there.



Hope you end up happy with whatever you choose.

I like Optimum ID, Wolfgang IDS, and Meguiar's Last Touch. With regards to CG, I find that their pink Speed Wipe is better than the Extreme Synthetic product - Although both are "anti-static", don't expect a complete repulsion of dust.
 
I use different detailers with different waxes and sealants. What is your wax/sealant. You need to make sure they are compatible.
 
After trying Megs QD, ONR at QD dilution, and HD Final Touch my vote goes to Final Touch. I love the lubricity for claying, and I use it on door jambs after a wipe down and it has some protection to it comparable to ONR. Great stuff and bubble gum scented.
 
The worst Quick detailer I used was one made my Chemical Guys. I don't remember its name but it was purple in color and it felt like I was spraying Windex on my paint. It wasn't slick and it didn't shine.

I really like Final Touch too. The looks remind me of NXT. Very glossy and amped up, especially with two coats. I sort of wish it was more concentrated though. I feel it's a bit watery.

I use either CG 5050 or collnite 476 how do I know what is compatible?
