Best Q.D. for Klasse

As a satisfied Klasse user I was wondering what the best Q.D. would be to use between applications. I have 1xAIO and 3xSG and don't have time to keep putting layers of SG on .Sonus High Gloss Acrylic Spritz seems ideal for the job, but I can't find anyone to supply to the U.K. I vaguely remember someone using a mixture of SG and distilled water-would this be a good alternative? I currently use Meguiars quik detailer which seems O.K. is this the same as 34 final inspection?

You guys have such a choice of products over there-spare a thought for us poor brits.

Oh, the cars looking great! (sorry no digital camera)

Many thanks for great forum-my wife thinks I'm addicted but I could stop anytime I wanted!!

Peter :D

I use Meguiar's QD and I'm very happy with it. I started using a different method lately though. I think carguy came up with it. Use a damp MF towel first and then go over it again with a dry one. That seems to work really well.

I am still new at this but since no expert has chimed in I'll tell you what I have learned so far.

You can use any QD that does not have carnuba in it. Carnuba topper will not allow you to put additional coats of SG in the future. Eagle One or Meguires FI is fine. You can also use SG diluted with dH2O.

Perhaps a more seasoned vet can take over....

Using a QD with carnuba is not really an issue because it really doesnt have that much and after a few days its gone anyway..What you dont want to do is use a QD with carnuba and then try to apply another coat of Klasse..That wont work because the K wont bond properly..That being said I like OGSO and have used it with Z with no problems...

you can mix AIO and distilled water and make your own QD. I think this is on the Kalssedirect website. I've never tried it though.

From Klasse direct website under "5 minute detail" Next order I'm getting the Large AIO and I will try it out...

Another great attribute of Klasse All-in-One is that it is water soluble in its liquid form. So all you have to do is take an empty and cleaned out 16 oz bottle and add 2-3 ounces of Klasse All-in-One and fill the bottle with water. Just shake and spray and wipe. This is great for giving your car or boat or plane or whatever that just waxed look and feel in 5-10 minutes and not waste the Klasse All-in-One.

...but if you use the AIO as a QD over the SG layers that you have on your car already, it will lessen the lifetime of your SG layers by stripping small amounts because of the fact that AIO is a polish and has abrasives in it. I'm pretty sure this is correct, can anybody back me up on this??? Would there be any way to make a QD with the SG??

Carguy,

Point well taken on the S/G removal but in the amounts you would be spraying on, it would do nothing more than clean the top layer of S/G. ALSO Klasse AIO does NOT contain ANY abrasives or for that matter silicones or wax. It does its magic via a kind of chemical treatment.

Again from the Klasse direct website:

"SAFE(No Abrasives-No Silicone) VERSATILE(use on all hard surfaces)

DOES NOT STAIN PLASTIC AND RUBBER TRIM

ECONOMICAL(one ounce per car lasts six months)

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL(Cleans, Polishes, Protects)

LASTS-LONGER-THAN-WAX(need only use twice a year)

NO SILICONE, NO WAX, NO POLYMER, NO TEFLON

WATER REPELLANT & HEAT RESISTANT

MAINTAINS SHINE(doesn’t break down like wax)

Use on CARS,BOATS,MOTORCYCLES,PLANES,IN HOME"

Take Care

Avalanche,

While I agree that Klasse AIO is one of the best cleaner/polymers on the market and using it diluted with water would not degrade your SG layers, you might want to take that type of product description with a grain of salt. I've tested it extensively on my black car and I find that it does contain a very mild abrasive (which is in NO WAY a bad thing) and doesn't come close to lasting 6 months. Also, if it doesn't contain any wax, polymers, silicones or teflon, what is it then?

I'd stick with a non-silicone, non-wax QD spray such as Meg's FI. It's cheap and you don't have to worry about the issue.

If you're certain you're not going to put more SG on (or will reapply AIO the next time you do) then you can use any QD.

My favorite that I have tried is One Grand Show Off. Don't know about availability in the UK.

You should get together with other people from the UK and order a whole bunch of stuff together.
