Steve, Zaino doesn¡Â¦t make any prep products other than their clay bar. Z-5 is NOT an abrasive cleaner... it's a water-based, oil-free sealant that fills in minor swirls.

Jason, I'd be happy to send you half my bottle of EX.... I've got so many bottles of sealant and so few cars to detail that I'll probably end up using EX no more than a few times.....especially with the way new products seem to come out all the time.

Then how can you make statements that your EX Sealant will stand a chance against Zaino in terms of durability? It sounds like you have absolutely no personal experience using Zaino.



Your product, as stated earlier, is an amino functional polymer with Carnauba. While many people like the carnauba appearance it does nothing to enhance durability. I believe it will actually decrease how long it lasts. Unless your product is using some new breakthrough process/chemicals I believe Steve's results are quite reasonable.

I can't for the life of me understand why a polished surface will increase durability as compared to applying to a completely clean surface free of waxes, dirt and oils. Maybe you can explain or ask your chemist to give an explanation.

I think I might have a reason. Oils stick to an abraded surface better than a non abraded one. EX has wax in it, thus oils. Oh, and I totally agree a wax product with amino functional polymer in it does nothing for durability. Polymers won't crosslink with the presense of oils.

I noticed Steve at Poorboys seems to get pissed if everyone is not "bragging" on what he is selling and thinks his EX is the best. I tried it and thougt it was nothing "special".

An internet "friend" forewarded me a mesage from poorboys he recieved from steve at poorboys after the mini "test". Seems there is an attitude problem somewhere...

I for one will never make another purchase after reading his childish "reply"

I agree. Vendor's need to act more professional and concentrate on improving their products instead of getting into an argument about how the testing was done.

Nothing Steve at Poorboys has written here has convinced me that his product will last for more than 4-6 weeks.
 
I've condidered using EX but after some of the replys from Steve I'm not sure this is an outfit I want to deal with. Contrast his responses to some of the responses to negative feed back from Mike Phillips. Mike (as far as I've seen) focuses on the problem and helping people. Very different approaches.
 
I find that my Zaino beads very very well, but it kinda clings to the surface, no sheeting at all... I was hoping that I could back the car out when I'm feeling lazy and let the rain clean off some of the dust/dirt before I could wash it myself but it just puts nasty water spots everywhere lol.
 
I have used many sealants and polishes that have all the hype about lasting long and providing the best protection. I used to be a firm believer in Pinnacle, then Blackfire came out and I tried that, then the next thing and the next. recently i tested 2 newer products, one on my wifes honda, and another on my audi. Poorboys, I used on the honda. It worked pretty well, no real complaints about it. On the audi I used Amino-UV. The biggest difference I could see immediately was that that Amino-UV was easier to use and a lot less work than poorboys, also the metallic in the pearl paint seemed much brighter than with BF or WG. In the past few days it has rained a lot here. amino UV has a much finer bead spread than poorboys did and the amino-uv still had a high gloss look after washing. Maybe the honda just needs a second coat of poorboys. Think im gonna stick with the amino-uv for a while
