G|Techniq® P1 Nanocomposite Polish - for normal paintwork correction P1 produces great finishes both by machine and by hand. For best and fastest results removes scratches and swirls safely and quickly without leaving holograms.

You might think that because most hand polishes contain a high percentage of fillers, P1 would be an also-ran if used by hand. In fact the opposite is true. Even we didn't expect P1 to be a strong performer when used by hand but when we tested it against products widely regarded as the best hand polishes. Furthermore because P1 doesn't use fillers your new finish that also used a lot of elbow grease won't deteriorate. However for fastest and for best results we recommend a rotary

Autoglym's Super Resin Polish -one of the best defect removal (especially suited to older ‘soft’ paint); a polish, glaze, and a synthetic wax in one easy to use, gentle formula, for the removal of oxidation and light surface marks, and it will also 'fill' in some of the deeper marks, creating a visually stunning appearance.

Iz Einszett Paint Polish- will bring the dullest finishes back to life with a lack of effort that will surprise you.

You can buy a machine, a few pads and polish for $100. Its not even worth thinking about doing anything by hand anymore. You can't even hope to polish, nevermind compound, a car by hand in 10 hours. And by 10 hours, it'll be multiple sessions of an hour or two until your arms feel like they are going to fall off.

Agree with Dan :xyxthumbs

IF a polisher is beyond somebody's means, they oughta just stick with products like TOGWT mentioned (especially the SRP) topped with Collinite, or maybe even NXT. And save up for the polisher.

I'd think that polishing a car by hand in prep for the CQuartz or another coating will be just an exercise in frustration.

As someone who polished cars by hand the first 10 years I was in business, I agree with this 100%. There is absolutely no way to polish as deeply and evenly by hand as you can by machine in 1/3rd the time.

As someone who’s still learning a lot of things about car detailing, I have to agree that polishing by hand is not simply practical anymore. A polishing machine is worth investing in and will make your work easier.

two years ago when I wanted to get into detailing for fun and just to clean up my car, I didnt wanna bite the bullet on a machine and bought some ultimate compound and MF applicators. I went to town on my car, took all weekend and it was inconsistant and wasnt close to perfect. I bought a machine and in less time than i spent by hand, the paint had 2 steps done and was just about perfect. the ability to do that is worth ~$100 for a machine without blinking.
