best otc flake popper?

I didn't get a chance to visit my father for Father's day. I finally have this weekend off but he's going to be out of town so I thought I'd surprise him by detailing his F250 which has a nice dark red metallic paint. I don't have time to order anything so I need some suggestions for an otc LSP that has some decent durability but will really bring out the flakes. Any recommendations?

for OTC I would use Duragloss...go to either carquest or federated auto parts and get some Duragloss 105 and some Aquawax spray....

use the DG 105 one day and then use Aquawax the next day....both are very durable products and will bring out the flakes big time....

Duragloss Aquawax for sure.

Mother's Cleaner wax isn't bad; if you can find the Mother's Reflections line at PepBoy's then go with it; or the FX line.

NXT 2.0 is ok; just keep it super thin; especially if you're working in the sun (or even on a warm surface.)

I haven't seen any DG stuff OTC in my area - am I just looking in the wrong spots? I'll echo the suggestions for NXT. I like the pop it gives, but it'll also look good against the dark red color....best of both worlds. Two light coats, if you can, and your Dad will be happy with the look and the durability.

Duragloss is sold at places like NAPA, Carquest, Parts Plus, etc. The places mechanics tend to shop, as opposed to AutoZone, O'Reilly's, etc. Duragloss is awesome. FWIW, their car wash and leather products are the best I've ever used as well.

Thanks for the lead...I've got a NAPA not too far from home, but I haven't seen it there. I'm a big fan of DG and I buy online...I was just pleasantly surprised to learn it's accessible OTC.

I keep wanting to try some AW or the Duragloss soap, but.. screwed here. We have plenty of car stores, but even the ones that supposedly carry duragloss just don't in my area.

I wasn't impressed with the DG soap. I had to use almost half the bottle to get any kind of suds on my paint unlike megs GC which suds everywhere with just a little bit.

That is the exact opposite of the results that I get with it. I use less than the recommended amount and get a lot of suds and lubricity.
