I was wondering whats the best quick detailer for mutli-purpose use? What QD do you guys use? :)

I recently purchase the NXT QD, but havent used it yet and wondering would that be okay to use as clay lube also? Also anyone know if its safe to use after a wash with Klasse SG recently applied? Thanks.

As luck would have it, I've done both of these with good results and without any problems! :) I clayed both of our vehicles with Nxt QD as the lubricant, and Klasse SG'ed them both as well -- and have continued to use Nxt QD to quick-detail them without any issues (Klasse SG still staying on, etc.). I'm switching to Final Inspection simply because of cost issues (buying a gallon of it), but I really liked Nxt QD.

Another vote for FI #34.

Locally avail, inexpensive, Meguiar's recommends it as a clay lube, smells teriffic, works well to remove dust and bird bombs, works good over FMJ and other sealants/waxes, an all-around great QD.

So many QD's available. If I had to pick one (or two :) ) of the best all around QD's, I'd certainly agree with the above mentioned Meguiar's #34 or I'd go with PoorBoy's Spray and Wipe because it seems to work well with every LSP and it has excellent cleaning power.

There are slicker QD's than those but for overall light cleaning, decent gloss with some slickness, great price and lots of user friendliness, I'd go with either #34 or S&W.

Can't go wrong with #34, Clearkote Quik Shine, Poorboy's S&W, or Adam's Detail Spray. They're my go to work horses. Just a note: In the Meguiar's catalog, they state that #34 is designed to work best when removing polish residue and for cleaning crevices/around emblems, etc. It may or may not have a high alcohol content, which may or may not hinder your LSP's durability. Just something to keep in mind.

Some good OTC alternatives are Eagle One Wipe and Shine (I think that's what it's called), Meguiar's Quik Detailer in the burgundy bottle, and for carnauba, Mother's Showtime.

I really like...

PB SnW

FK425

FK146

DG FC&S

But I have never used any of them as clay lube.

I have used the DP 4n1 mixed as clay lube, QD, bucket wash. All 3 seem to work well.

Any QD should be fine as a clay lube, but it's expensive so at the very least dilute it.

Chemical Guys Speed Wipe is my favorite workhorse QD.

A quick question about QD's, (hope I'm not hijacking your thread): Is it safe to be dragging dust around the car when using a QD? I'm kinda afraid that it will cause marring on the paint. I'm currently using Mothers Instant Shine.

Hopefully the QD will encapsulate the dust, lifting it off the surface and into your microfiber towel. So it is important to have a QD with very good cleaning ability and a plush Microfiber. I assume you're talking about Mothers Showtime, which has okay cleaning ability but there is a lot better out there.

I use the PB's S&W (my car)as well as the Megs #34 (everything else) both are excellent products as a side note I think Megs was the first out with the QD some one correct me if I'm wrong

One grand show off :up

FK1 #146 :up

Available locally, I really like the TWPUG but I wouldn't consider it all-around (mediocre lubricity)

I was recently turned on to "Polish , Wax and Treatment", from Protect All, (They make the QEW) by a friend of mine who owns a motorcycle. He gave me a little to use at my leisure and said "Let me know what you think).....I tried it, liked it, and bought it...........It also has UV blockers which is important when your deciding if you should park under a tree, or in the hot Ca. sun.......

One Grand Show Off leaves an awesome finish over carnauba.

DG FC&S for me, hands down. Cheap, cleans well, leaves great gloss and slickness. Can't remember the last bottle of Meg's #34 I bought (long time ago)...just other stuff that works better or just as well for a lot less.

Finish Kare 425. I haven't tried QS but for true all-purpose uses I can't find a better one. Mothers Showtime is an awesome clay lubricant though.
