Best metallic wax out there ?

Hey guys,

I've been reading you for quite a while but never registred to the forum. Now, I'm doing it because I would like your opinions on what would be your ultimate metallic wax ?

In my collection, I have Pete's53,FK1000, Natty's red, WG Fuzion and Pinnacle SigII ( I'm confuse about this one because I thought it was a metallic wax but actually it's more like a wet-looking wax for light colored car).

I'm reaching 80% of the times FK1000 because it provide the best durability for my customer. the other 15% is Pete's53 ( still unsure about his durability) and 5% fuzion.

I'm thinking about letting go SigII and Natty's red( well I just wont use anymore but I can't sell it, its the first wax I ever bought, sentimental value here) and only keeping petes'53,fuzion and FK1000.

But what's your thought ? Feel free to offer me more choice!

For sheer looks, I haven't found anything that looks better than Z2 on metallics. It also continues to look great wash after wash unlike most other products. For ease of use Z8 or Aquawax are nice toppers.

Waxes for metallics are one of those "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" topics. I really Meg's #26 for red metallics as it darkens the red and lets the flake pop out. However, I do not care for it on silver cars. For this color, I prefer Paste Glaz (no longer available - replaced with Signature II which I do not recall trying) or S100. However regarding you situation, none of the waxes I mentioned are in the same durability league of FK1000 - plan on applying another coat every 2 months

Same opinion here (my wife prefers Souveran paste on silver!).

cobraa- Welcome to Autopia!

Unless your customers don't like it for some reason, I'd just stick with the FK1000P.

Thanks! Ive been on agonline for quite a while tho.

My customer couldn't tell if I was using fk1000 or fuzion. I'm sure. I could just lie about it and say Ij ust applied fuzion when, in fact, I applied FK1000. ( just to prove my point). However, I'm always looking to improve my works and trying to find better products for them.

But you know, since I was a agonline members, sometimes I miss great company that ag doesn't carry, so I was looking for a second-hand opinion but, so far, it seems like I'm all-set for metallic paint!

HD Poxy is a good sealant. Combine that will Uno as your polish and you will have a great looking finish.

I've tried numerous different pure sealants, hybrids, and boutique waxes on my metallic gray Acura and by far prefer Poxy to all else. I don't have any Z-2, but I've seen several Z-2 on metallic jobs before and have been amazed by it.
