Best metal polish?

Hey guys, im looking for the best metal polish that is out there. I have polished parts in my engine bay and because my car just sits in my garage during the winter condensation builds up on the polished parts, and the other day when i popped my hood the parts had white spots all over them. I used mothers metal polish to try to clean it up and it didnt fully remove the spots in all areas. What metal polish is strong enough to get through the marks the spots have left on the metal?

I have a lot of customers that use Collinite's Metal Wax for polishing. And believe it or not a lot of them customers are using it on their polishes hand guns.

I'd go with Adam's #1 and 2. They seem to cut a little quicker than anything else I've used. I'm a fan of Flitz as well.

Not suprised. I go through some Flitz for that purpose. I tried Adams #1 and 2 on it the other night. I didnt put in the time that I normally do, because another range trip is planned soon. Metal polish is great on stainless cylinders (revolvers) to get the black rings off the front. I use a dremel and some small polishing bits to get rid of the black circles before the CLP comes out to clean and lube. :D

Flitz is huge in the gun industry. Personally I have a polymer and blued finihsed gone so neither I have to polish.

Glad you clean your guns! I know peopel that never clean theirs and it drives me nuts! LOL

Supposedly Flitz is safe on blued handguns. It's ridiculous how much time I spend on the revolver compared the the Glock.

Sorry to go OT, so I'll get back on really quick....The Mother's powerball and powermetal are pretty cool. I just got some samples of the Adams stuff and I've only messed with it by hand. I've got some cotton buffing balls for my drill and I plan to try them with the Adams. Adams by hand on my polished wheels seems to cut almost as fast if not faster than the Powerball/power metal....I cant wait to try it with the buffing balls.

Alright, so Adams 1 and 2 or Flitz will cut through the spots. What product will produce the biggest shine.

I haven't compared the two on my wheels yet. Adams is a 2 step process (you dont have to use both, but # 2 is a lighter abrasive). I think you'll be pleased with either product. In my LIMITED experience with Adams on stainless, it seems like Adam's 1 may have a slight edge in how fast it can cut through the oxidation. Again, this is a comparison that I am making based on how it performed on a stainless steel handgun.

I just tried the DG metal polish and it was pretty good but it required alot more elbow grease than WICKED metal polish. WICKED is my fav. out of all the polish I used.

What is the best thing to apply the polish and to remove the polish? Ive been using a microfiber towel to apply the polish then use a microfiber towel to remove it and and polish out the shine. Is a microfiber towel the best to use?

Way2, be careful when using Adam's Metal Polishes on your wheels. I read on another forum if the wheel (Chrome) has clear coat, it'll remove the clear coat. Here's the thread:

I love mother's incredible billet. That stuff can make aluminum shine like chrome. Other polishes polish aluminum ok but you'r always left with that whitish look, mother's billet leaves no micro-scratches and the finish is as fine as I've ever seen, it even polishes plastic to an absolutely perfect finish.
