mactecllc.com sells it for $14.50 with free shipping.

Thanks for that tip. I didn't see them come up in a Google search. Have you tried any of their other products?

MACTECLLC is a Collinite distrubitior but I think you only get free shipping on the liquids give him a call he ships federal ground so you get the product fast

I called them and asked them which one of their products would they recommend for my use and they recommended the 476S. They explained the difference between the liquid Insulator wax and the 476S. My preference was for the paste.

What did they say was the difference between Insulator and 476S?

You know, I can't remember.:o I just remember thinking the paste wax was the better choice for me.

In as much as the 476S is "detergent proof," how do you wash it out of the pads you apply it with?:nixweiss

How do you apply 476S? Is it wipe on wipe off like S100 or do you let it haze first? Also how did Insulator Wax and 476S do in the Wax Test that was released a year or so ago?

Dont worry you can still get your pads clean. I have used both the Insulator and 476. I think the 476 last a bit longer and IMO does have a little better, wetter look. The 476 is pretty easy to work with when its warm out, but the IW is easy to work with when cold.

So Insulator would be the better choice for applying during the winter months? Is 476S that difficult to work with in the cold?

How do you apply Insulator Wax? Wipe on wipe off or let haze than wipe off?

I wouldn't characterize it as "difficult." Just that it takes a little more effort to apply. The directions say to remove it when it starts to haze. I found no problem here. I applied it to one panel, then another. After I applied it to the second panel I went back and wiped it off the first panel. Keep in mind that the ambient temperature was between 65 and 70 degrees. Your milage my differ...

Like I said, in warm weather the 476 is very easy to work with (on and off). In the cold weather the IW is easier to work with, but dont let that scare you the 476 just takes a bit more effort to remove. I agree with the "2 panel" method mentioned above.

#476 IS THE PASTE VERSION OF #845 BUT 476 IS A LITTLE HARDER TO WORK WITH.Every winter I apply Collinite and I have no problem at all.Put it on wait about 15 minutes till it turns to a haze and rub it off with a clean MF turning it.One of the best winter waxes I ever used not to mention the beating. Can you get a solid 6 monthes out of this wax POSSIBLY but 4 months is a given.I don't use soap in the winter (you will see what im talking about)Ifyou can get indoors you just hose off you vehicle and it all comes off.nothing sticks.

what is the best of the :LSP's I have that will give a wet look and last the longest:

Collinite 476

#16

S100

Megs cleaner wax (mirrorglaze)

Wolfgang

EX-P

Wax Frenzy

NXT

Of the products you have their, I would suspect that the Collinite would be the most durable. I've used it, and it is "tough" stuff. However, I'm not a big fan of the look. #16 or EX-P would probably be the next most durable.

On a side note, I still think that a few coats of Klasse SG, or Zaino topped with One Grand Bliz is the best combination for winter protection. As a matter of fact, on it's own, Bliz is about as durable a carnauba that one can use. However, it can be finicky to apply and remove, and is a bit of a dust magnet.
