Best Garage Lights?

Would suggest you do a SEARCH on lighting, its been covered once or maybe even twice before

I want to install ceiling lights in my new 36x24 garage so what would be the best choice for lights?

Florescent provides the bright shadow-free light and Halogen provides the best swirl and blemish detection. You'd probably want some of each.

TOGWT is right, there are a couple threads you should search out for good info. Besides searching on lights or lighting also search on garage.

Florescent are great. Just make sure that your garage does not get too cold as some florescent lights do not work in cold weather.

if you can spend the $$, I'd give serious consideratoin to metal halide...there's not much to compare it to.

It's been said before: You can NEVER have too much light in the garage!!

I just replaced all the standard flourescent tubes in the garage with new ones (12 years out of bulbs seemed decent enough). I picked up some Phillips 40w 4' bulbs at Home Depot that were labeled "Natural Light" or "Sunlight" or something along those lines. GREAT lights, and at 6-odd dollars per two pack, it may be the budget winner.

I'm not in the metal halide tax bracket yet.

*edit* While you are at HD, pick up a 1000W contractor light for the fine polishing:up
