Best for White?

I used FK1000P on a relative's white Accord, it looked great. Would top it with DWG for extra looks.

Yeah, FK1000P would get my vote too (and it's what I'll use on my next white vehicle). I wouldn't bother topping it though, but that's just me.

But really....same ol' same ol'...it's a matter of *PREP* even on white. Removing the marring that "doesn't show on that color" and even doing a final jeweling/burnishing is what *really* makes one white vehicle look better than another. I can understand if somebody doesn't want to bother, and yeah it's easy to keep white looking ~80%, but if you *REALLY* want it to look special you gotta do the correction same as on a black car.

As far as looks go a wax looks more natural and part of the paint where as a sealant looks more like it's sitting on top of the paint. Both can be made to look fantastic but it's really the over all preferance to the end result which one to go with. It used to be sealant would last quite a bit longer than most waxes today that's no longer the rule of thumb. So go for looks that suit you.

Ironic, huh? Considering that sealants bond to the paint and wax sits on it.

yeah I agree with prep work. Ima clay again (its about that time). Im also lookin at the CG pro polish topped with either butter creme wax or jet seal. both by CG. if not, I always have my trusty zaino to fall back on...hehe

I have a white Mustang and Clearkote Vanilla Moose combined with RMG looks outstanding... but as with any car it's all in the prep.

In general, sealants work well on white.

FWIW, I've been using Meg's #16 on my white car for a while and have been very pleased with the ease and appearance.

so.... I was introduced to Blackfire products... they look really great, but the cure time between coats is insane?! 8 hours??

Really? When I first got Blackfire a few years ago, I was told there was no waiting period. In any case, 8 hrs. is not bad. I was looking into Wolfgang's sealant and that also has an 8 hr. period. I think. IIRC, they suggest you actually wait 24 hrs. I think that's just the way it is for sealants.

well... Im about 90% sure Ima go with Blackfire...

Just some food for thought, not that I don't think BF is an OK choice...

I used BF on one of our silver Audis and a different LSP (I think it was #16 or 3M Showcar Paste Wax) on the other. They have identical paint and the same bodystyle and both looked good. But when parked next to each other, it was *strikingly* obvious that the BF made the paint on that car look a *LOT* darker, as if it were a different paint code altogether. I've since switched that car to UPP, and/but no matter *what* other LSPs I've used on those cars I've never seen such a dramatic difference between the two.

That "darkening" sorta makes me think that I'd lean towards something else on certain colors, white included. But again that's just me.... Who knows, the same sort of effect might make white look deeper and richer than it usually does, maybe it'd be perfect for that :nixweiss

I just wanted to throw the observation out there for your consideration.

Meg's 16 gives white a purdy glow to the paint. The wettest I've seen so far on my mustang is Paste Glaz

wow... good info to know !! thanks.. appreciate it :xyxthumbs

aight... the results are in.

so I went to PakShak and picked up a PC, Blackfire wet diamond, some wheel wax, and Optimum QD. I started cleaning my TBSS at about 1030 and was done by 1400 (thanks to the PC). I prepped by claying, then hit it with ZAIO, then layed some Wet Diamond down... GAHHH DAMN !!! the shine is unbelieveable !!!! I tried takin pics but the weather was not too slick today, and the pics I DID get do it no justice... Ima try to upload em sometime tomorrow....

verdict, Blackfire is well worth it...

Glad you liked Blackfire. It's one of my favorite sealants. Personally, I like Blackfire better on dark colors, but hey, if you liked it.....:spot
