Best Filler that can be used with P21S?

Many of you have seen my other thread about the swirl marks on my Acura TSX. I've decided to fill them in rather than buffing them out. My argument is that it's my daily driver, and however much I try and prevent swirls from getting on my paint, they're going to get there no matter what. So instead of shaving off a little bit of my clearcoat each time I polish the car, I'd rather preserve the paint as much as possible and just fill in the swirls instead.

I was looking at the Zaino Z-5 as a filler for swirls as I am about to place an order for the Leather in a Bottle soon anyway. Question: Will using Z-5 before applying P21S Carnuba wax be okay for my paint? Will they "play well"?

Are there any other better fillers out there?

Most people feel that Z5 is very weak in the filling department.

Probably something else like Megs #7 would work better. But as long as the Z5 is bonded completely, they should work fine together.

Sorry I cant say anything about other products other than Z5 is garbage with it's filling properties. Has a decent shine, and good depth, but does nothing for swirls.

I've heard great things about red moose glaze but never used it myself.

I've got some Clearkote Red moose glaze and really haven't noticed any filling qualites. But Clearkote's Carnauba Moose Wax does a real good job.

would some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze fill in the scratches? And for how long would it do so?

It works OK on fine marring but IME *nothing* does much for the nasty stuff.

It oughta last as long as the wax on top of it does.

And I agree that Z5's filling ability is vastly over-rated.

Edit- wonder how well Meg's #9 would work for this one

RMG is not going to give you a any great filling abilities. Its a glaze for making the car look nice not for filling up :xyxthumbs.

Is using a good polish really going to be that detrimental to the overall life of the clear coat? I am thinking you use a very abrasive polish maybe 2 a year, probably a finer polish for minor stuff a little more often and something with just about no cut at all (like p21s gepc) as often as you like. I could be terribly wrong, if so someone please explain... Thanks!

You shouldn't even have to use a "very abrasive polish" twice a year. As much as everyone stresses that good looking paint is a product of the prep work, a proper wash technique, IMO, is even more important.

There's no use in getting your paint 100% or even 90% if you can't keep it looking good for more than a few months.
