Best drying towel?

Ive been making up my Christmas list and I was thinking about asking for some new drying towels.



Ive been using the Megs Water Magnets for many years now but Im ready to try something different.



What does everyone else use and where did you get it?



Im asking for some ONR from autogeek so it would be nice to ask for the towels from the same place(save on shipping). Is the Cobra 'Guzzler' any count? I see they have one that would practically cover the entire side if my Jeep but its $30!



Im also asking for stuff from ADS but all they have is Megs WW..

Edit: I see that they have the mothers drying towel also, but its $16 and its just 20x24. I can get a 20x40 cobra WW for $20..
 
i only like to use the ultra-soft ones as the normal ww's are a tad to rough for my liking. if i were to buy some more ww's, i would buy them from patrick/exceldetail as he has the best pricing (honest shipping charges too, call him and he should apply a 10% autopian discount) i've seen to date... p.s. if you're strictly going to order only from AG, their guzzlers would be a good option, they are pretty nice as well...

p.s. if you're stricly going to order from AG, their guzzlers are pretty as well...
 
I have used only 2 different types of drying towels. 1 from detailersdomain and 1 from CMA(big blue II). And I love the CMA version better.
 
I have both the Ultra Soft's from Ranney, and the Monterey's from Patrick, and love them both. (look and feel the same to me)



While they are not as dense as some other towels that might absorb a bit more water, they both are extremely soft, and very high quality. Plus, the service is great from both guys.
 
Looks like detailingcity.com has ONR for $12 but idk how long that sale is going to last. They also have the Cobra Guzzler(20x40) for $20 so I think Ill buy them from there.



Anyone ever use the Cobra Guzzler? $20 is alot to spend on a towel for me.

I haven't felt or used one, but based on the photo, I have a feeling it might be very similar, maybe the same towel, as the Sonus Der Wunder Drying towel:

I also prefer the ultra soft waffle weaves vs the normal waffle weave, but both have their pros/cons. The ultra soft ones are easily snagged and IME, they don't seem to absorb as much water as the regular waffle weaves. I have both kinds and will use them accordingly to which car I am drying. Some cars have sharp edges or places where towels can easily snag, and in that case I will use the normal waffle weaves, or maybe even the Walmart ww as they are more durable than the ultra soft ww.

I had a Megs Water Magnet and it was nothing to write home about. The Guzzler for example is much softer and more absorbent.



However, my guzzlers died for some reason after about 1 year of use. They bead water on the surface. I think maybe it's because I wash them with my other towels that are loaded with wax and polish.



Anyway, I just got a waffle weave towel from Detailed Image and it's GREAT. $15 for a big towel that soaks up water like crazy. I have a brand new Guzzler too that isn't as absorbent as this thing.
 
If you want to try something different, consider Mothers Foam Core Waffle Weave towel.



It is essentially 2 ww towels over a center foam core. I have used it twice now it and dries better than any mf drying towel or standard waffle weave towel. You can really dry an entire car with one. It is ultra soft too. It is a little expensive ($14 or so). Most standard drying towels get ungainly when they get wet (want to drag ground) but this towel stays more or less rectangular due to the foam core so it is easy to place for blotting and control (less likely to drag ground). The towel is made by the same company that makes the Viking and other private brands.
 
ADS’s “California� towel is softer and fluffier than the Water Magnet.



It’s more like the Excels and Pakshaks (but smaller than they are).
