Best dressing for ext plastics?

ret,

Thanks again for the info. The layman finally gets it!!!! Ha Ha The added photo in my post now shows a fully restored black plastic Ford Mustang Cowl. This plastic will stay in this condition if the owner will do follow ups about every 2 or 3 months. That surface is absolutely dry. No oily feel or run off after a good rain. Our mustang owners are very happy campers, especially when it comes to their show stangs. Hope this photo offers some hope.

Great photo Mark! Looks like you are getting incredible results. Can you please share your process with the group so we can all benefit? Thanks!

Hey buzzb, thanks for the response. I would be happy to share the how to with everyone. It's actually a very easy process. Much easier if you remove the wiper arms. To do a better than production finish, customers have actually removed the cowl(show cars), fully restored them, then put the cowl back on. In some cases it's worth the effort.

Thanks again,

Mark G.

Mark G.- What product did you use? Sorry, but I can't quite make it out from the (otherwise great) picture. It looks like the results I get using regular paint polishes on some plastics, not that it's a good approach for *every* such surface.

I just ordered Poorboys and the Forever Black Kit. I'll post before and after pics.

I plan to apply it on the windshield trim (very cloudy), rear bumperettes and the window trim.

Might try it on my center console too.

I believe he is talking about Acrylic Werks. If you search there was at least one pretty long thread going about that product:

Mr. Ness you are correct. I really didn't want to write a lot about the polish rather just show some before and after work and let that stand on it's own. This Stang owner couldn't believe the shine was for real, so on his way home he stopped by the coin op car wash and hit the cowl with a soap and rinse on high pressure wash and the cowl was still perfectly shiney afterward. I hope the results are nice enough?
