Best cruises / cruise lines you have experienced

No one has mentioned the Disney Cruise Line, anyone care to share? The wife and I have never been on a cruise and are thinking about doing a Disney Cruise with the kids, next year hopefully.

Save the extra dough you'd spend on Disney and use it to get a nicer room on Carnival. The kids program is just as good if not better AND there are fewer kids running around the ship.

Actually we can get the tickets at cast member pricing. I am not too worried about the pricing but, more interested in a comparison of the cruise experience with Disney vs other lines.

Bob, I don't know about the Disney ships themselves but I'd still take the Carnival as there will be fewer kids onboard and you will appreciate that.

Thought I would add a couple pictures to this thread...

If you get the Travel Channel..they seems to either show programs about Vegas or Cruises LOL..

If you get the Cast Member discount, it could be worth trying Disney..but like others have mentioned..I envision it to be like a 8 year old's birthday party..and if I worked for Disney, the last thing I'd want to see would be Disney everything (even the ship's horn blows 'When You Wish Upon a Star')

I've cruised Norwegian, the Dawn out of NYC ...

FREESTYLE DINING is the only way to go! We paid a small fee to eat at the private restaurants for evening dinners, but it was well worth it! 2 person seating, very good food very private, and awesome service!

NCL seemed to have an "older" crowd, above 50 ... onboard entertainment was great, topside parties were great, the sailing was smooth, and the food was plentiful!

I will cruise again on NCL, sign me up again today!!!!!

This thread gave me the cruise bug again...I just booked a Princess Cruise..first time with them, but I got an awesome deal. 7 nights in January for $519..it was the same price as carnival!

I'd recommend using cruisecompete.com. kind of like the Lending Tree for home loans, but with travel agents...if I had waited a bit, I could have paid $550 per person, but had $150 in shipboard credit
