Well, since you are doing this work to someone else's car and won't have time for multiple SG coats, I would stick to a carnauba plan. You could ceratinly lay on 1 coat of SG if you wanted to, but without seeing the car my plan of attack might be:

Wash & Clay

IP (Only if it needs it)

#82 (or FP if you like)

s100/P21s

I don't think I ever apply a sealant without really wanting to apply a topper to it, so when I am pressed for time and durability is not my #1 concern, I will stick with a carnauba-only process. Your decision may vary, but I find that when I'm short on time, this works well for me and produces the results I am looking for.

Your mileage may vary.

well i know it does need the ip, time is not a problem i have all day but i want it to comes out as good as it can thats why i was asking for suggestions, thanks

I'm surprised that you don't have engine cleaning questions! Most Vette owners have that concern.

The advice so far is spot on... you can only do one application of SG... No time for a carnauba topper. Doing it 'early' eliminates the durability factorof the Klasse SG

Jim.'

How can anybody make a suggestion on what to use with no other information than, "red vette"????????????????

How does the car look? Is it faded, rough to the touch, cob webs, scratches, water spots, etching, fall out?????????????? Is it factory paint?? Is it a daily driver, weekends only?????/

What is the customers expectation? How much are you charging?

Am I on the Professional Detailers forum?

red vette, minor etching spider webbing. no fade, needs clay, factory paint, daily driver, customer expectation high, charging cheaper to not make it worth my time but will do it cause he knows people that can get me more business

Without seeing it, I can't recommend the exact steps I would take, but once you get the paint properly prepped, I'd go with Vanilla Moose and Carnauba Moose. They will give you a very deep, wet look.

Agreed. I wish I had some on hand for a vette I did last week!:(

Personally I think souveren looks better on Red then S100. Not much of a difference but I notice it.

I would agree....but I was going off what he said he already had on-hand...so it'd be the P21s

Here was my plan of attack:

Wash

Clay

IP

FP

Here's the result:

Use your judgement on the IP/FP, but for optimum results, I would use both.

#1 Carnauba

#2 Sealant

#3 Carnauba

But my real guess is that it's a trick question and they all have the same product on there. The contours of the cars in #1 & #3 make it a tough call.

yep, they all wear the same type of product.

That is what I figured, but the horizontal surface of the 745 plus the fact it appears to be the metallic black makes it look somewhat different. The lack of curves minimizes the wet look.

Like I have mentioned before, your last step product may affect the appearance 5-10% one way or the other, provided the paint is properly prepped.

All three are pure black, no metallic. the Nova is a custom paint job and the other two are factory finishes.

All three are topped with a sealer.

I guess the angle of the lighting makes the trunk lid on the 745 look a bit lighter. I regularly clean one with that metallic black paint.

BTW, any full pics of the Nova?
