Best Car Wash in a Gallon?

Optimum No Rinse if you want a QEW style wash that leaves the paint pretty slick.

I pay $4.99 for Kit Carnauba Wash in the gallon size at Pep Boys. Really nice OTC wash.

+1 on the Kit. Very easy on lsp's.

I wash with Simple Green diluted 50/50 with water. When I'm out of Simple Green I use dish soap 30/70. :bolt

Just kidding...

Diluting is for wusses...I go with STRAIGHT SIMPLE GREEN! Then I add a dab of hydrochloric acid in there, just for good measure. :lol

I had a customer who was using Simple Green cut 50/50 to wash her single stage red Blazer and couldn't understand why the paint was so faded. :nervous:

has anyone used the turtle wax platinum series (green) car wash? i've seen a few mobile detailers who were carrying it and one who swore by it.

Yeah, I have. Its actually a very fine shampoo. The suds are quite thick and last, decent lubricity, and gentle on LSP. I can't fault it. It even smells better than most that I've used. Try it..you'll like it.

Simple green's a solid choice when used as a shampoo. However..........I only recommend a 50/50 mixture of bleach & paint thinner. Couple that with those wire brushes used to clean your BBQ grill & you've got a top quality car washing system. It just pampers the paint finnish. I recently used a draino/muratic acid mixture with a few capfulls of QEW. The slickness was top notch & it didn't seem to degrade the 10 layers of poly urethane I applied last week to my customers BMW 7 series at all. ! (lol)

I just had to join in the fun!! (lmao)

Back to the subject.........TOL's Bubble Bath & CG's Maxi Suds would be my recommendations for shampoos bought by the gallon. I've found them to be my top 2 - go to shampoos.

I finished a 16 oz container of Meguiar's Soft Gel and was going to buy a $10 gallon of Meguiar's Gold Class but saw a gallon of Kit Wash & Wax for $4.98 (apparent regular price) at Advance Auto Parts so I bought that. I think it works quite well, but I'm a newbie.

Oh geeze, How about NXT wash. Now that it was not mentioned, I may have to find another wash. This Autopia site is really making me "Funny" and not "Ha Ha" funny.

I gave the Black Magic wash a shot recently. Great smell. Lil' bit goes a long way too.

the liquid looks like one of those expensive buble baths.

I think it was a gallon size, it was the same bottle as what you see clothing detergent sold in, same cap too.

Funny with all the talk about Simple Green. They actually have come out with a new car wash

You can find it here Link

Meguiars Gold Class in the 128 oz. size at Costco is hard to beat for a quality car was at a great price.

Although I really like Griots products, IMHO $39.95 for a gallon of car wash is just crazy.

Scottwax, I'll have to try the Kit Carnauba wash and wax. You really can't beat that price

Oh yeah... If you have trouble finding any of the washes above, dirt and water makes a great wash too !! :LOLOL

There are some coupons available for Eagle One now and their Car Wash soap is pretty good for OTC.

For $24.95 you can get a full gallon of EF Auto Spa and its loads better than Griots. Tried em both. Richard is a good vendor but his prices are insane.
