best car soap

This is why I'm a little confused. People have shown pix of a gallon jug of bluish liquid...but their website shows the little white expensive bottles. I'm wondering if this is one of those cross-platform products...like the Zymol/ Turtlewax cleaner wax that's available at Target stores. Does anyone know where to find the gallon jug version?

The large jug of blue/green Zymol is not really Zymol. It's made by Turtle Wax for Zymol and sold very cheaply over the counter. The expensive stuff Charles linked is totally different stuff. The cheap stuff I have used and it's decent. It's comparable with the other over the counter soaps like Eagle One and Megs.

After getting the car back from the body shop (the rear and a 1/4 had to be painted due to small accident) I started to notice, after starring at it for 20 minutes, that the rest of the car seemed slightly faded. Maybe I just need to put some good ole elbow grease and a good wax to it. What's this LSP you talk of? What kind should I use?

Sounds like a good chemical polish may be needed. Try some Meguiar's ColorX and see what it can do. You may not want to use it on the freshly painted panels if the bodyshop told you not to wax it for x-amount of days, as it supposedly leaves some protection behind. It's a darn good polish in my opinion.

LSP = Last Step Product; i.e. waxes & sealants.

I agree about the ColorX. It is the over the counter equivalent of Klasse AIO.

Personally, I'd stick with a dedicated car wash shampoo. Baby shampoo is formulated to wash baby's head - car wash shampoo formulated to wash baby's paint. :)
