What is the best automobile insurance carrier? Has anyone heard of or dealt with a company called Universal?:help:

It's a toss up. i;ve been with a ton of insurance comapnies. Some are high for me but not other and visa versa. I''ve had Citizens, AAA, State Farm, All State and more. We just went to AAA for car and home from Citizens just for a better rate. I use All State for my buisness and a place callked Look insurance for my motorcycle. Your best bet is to shop around for new insurance every 3 years.

I'm looking right now, too. So far Unitrin has the lowest rates and a friend says he had pretty good service when he had a claim through them.

Only been with Progressive. My parents have Geico.. and the rates seem high. They been with them for a long time!

I've always had American Family. Haven't found a better rate since being a 'preferred member' for over 10 years.

Never have made a claim, though, so I'm not sure how they are in that department.

I'll save a rant about having to pay so much money for something that will never be used for another time.

Wawanesa if you live in California or Oregon. USAA if you or a family member is or was in the armed forces.

If you wanna go the economical route call 5-10 independent agents who will shop your insurance particulars with 10-15 companies each. Then they'll call you back with the best rate. This is my Dad's system for buying auto ins and I find it works great!

Farm Bureau insurance is the cheapest for the mustang and the wife uses USAA for the Fusion. I would definitely go USAA if you can.

I've had SafeAuto, Allstate, Progressive, and Grange. I shopped about a dozen places and Progressive ended up the cheapest when I bought my Mustang GT. Seems to me once you have a couple years with one company they begin to hike the rates so you have to shop around.
