Best all around microfiber for drying?

IME *EVERY* plush MF on the market, with the exception of a few (and not all by any means!) made for use on glass will shed lint to some extent.

Heh heh, I must have six or eight Cobra (plush, orange) MFs made for glass, and one is so-so with regard to linting, and one is *PERFECT* (love it!!), and the others are absolute linty [crap].

Kean- Yeah, the Shamrocks *do* shed something awful, and *IMO* they're a bit *too* plush for most polish/LSP uses.

And yeah#2, these days I use PakShak MFs almost exclusively for polishes/LSPs. Not saying there aren't cheaper alternatives that're just as good, but I don't mine giving them my money and I've never had *any* disappointments with them.

That said, I also try to steer business Patrick's way (shop West Coast Detail Supply Home and tell them I sent you :D ) and his MFs won't let you down either. I'm pretty sure that a few of my MFs (blue ones...) came from him and they're perfectly OK.

And I'd bet my life that if you had a problem with towels from either of those sources, they'd make it right.

FWIW, I also like the low/no-nap "suede-style" MFs from Top of the Line Auto Detailing Supplies for buffing off some LSPs (especially sealants), but "uh-oh!" if you get any contamination between those and the finish.

Whats kind of funny about this thread that I opened, I expected mature positive input. Some of you guys are generous and courteous with your replies...Thank You. Some of you have forgot how much you did not know about detailing before you went out and charged for your work and criticize the exact people that were like yourself before you became an "expert". My big motivation is my love for the restoration of classic cars, driving them, showing them and keeping them on the road. I have never claimed to be a expert detailer, but my peers commented enough to let me know I had a wonderful ability and eye for detail. Self taught. Lived and learned by trial and error. I have now extended my passion to putting smiles on the daily driver cars that don't have that 10K paint job, but I know it is the customers "baby". Like I said. I do not know all the tricks and knowledge of the trade. But what I do know is this. My ability will grow as my knowledge grows. What I give to my customers will speak for itself and has. Thank you to all of you hard working detailers that put your unique ability and love of the trade and share your wealth of experience with the guy just starting out with the public. Thank you again. ....thanks Accum. The reason I bought the Shamrocks was due to the fact that I didn't have anything that plush and while I don't do a lot of QD'ing, I wanted a few on hand for that purpose.

I will try out WCDS as well as PakShak to replenish my good polish/LSP removal towels. My current glass towels are some "cheapie" Vrooms I bought at Target. ....the thinner, low nap ones (gray and white towels with orange trim). Unlike their thicker cousins, they don't seem to lint. ....at all. I certainly wouldn't use them on paint though.

Thanks for the advice and recommendations. :)

....sorry for the hijack Dan and thanks to the others that chimed in as well.
