Bentley Maser and a Supra

This week was very very long. I am glad its over.

The Flying Spur was done at a shop that I do work for when they need detailing. The owner(of the shop) called me and told me that someone just bought a Bentley and the dealer messed up real bad on the paint. He said there were swirls and holograms all over the place. Well he told me that he wanted the car polished to take them out. Okay well I get there tuesday and look at the car and begin to work. I did a 2 step polish, it wasn't going to be 100% but I knew he wouldn't pay me for 100%. It did look a lot better though. Anyway, when I finished 8 hours later I told him how much and he almost had a heart attack. This wasn't more than $400 I usually charge more but I know the guy and he gives me a lot of work so I thought I would be nice for a change. Well next time I am going to tell him up front this is what it is going to cost if its too much....sorry. I was pissed.

The Maserati was from a client that I have yet to meet. He lives in Mexico and comes here once every 3-4 months for.....I don't know. Anyway he contacted me through another forum and told me he was thinking about buying a Quattroporte and wanted me to detail it. I went to where it was located and took a look at the car. I reported back and told him what I thought. He went with single step polish because he said it didn't need to be perfect since it is not his daily driver. Well everything was fine, I was working on the car at Lamborghini of Houston surrounded by Lambos and the music of the V10's and V12's being worked on. This is when I sit back and realize how much I love my job.

He wanted an interior detail since the leather was pretty dirty. It is an 06 with very light color seats. After calling Scott(thanks) I went back the next day to finish up the car. A little math for you now...What happens when you mix 1 part not paying attention with 2 parts inpatience? Ruined leather. Yeah so I got a guy to come out there to re-dye the section I messed up. Cost 60 bucks plus I was able to calm down after that. Talked to the owner of the car and told him what happend and that I took care of it. He was more than fine with it. Everything else went smoothly after that.

The supra was from the guy that sold the Maserati. Sweet ride, about 600 to the wheels. He just wanted a clay and wax so that is what I did.

I'm not sure if I understood, but did you damage the seats by using Woolite?

no, I damaged the seat by being careless. I wasn't paying attention and my mind was else where. I don't remember if I was using the Z9 or the Woolite at the time of the damage but it was the brush I was using and the pressure that caused it. It was a hard bristle brush( I shouldn't have been using)and I was going to fast. Lesson learned.

Thanks, and yes that is an LP560. They had the new and extremely expensive Reventon in the showroom but it was covered with their car cover. I will try to post a pick later
