Hi I am just getting into this and need your help on deciding whether to get a new pc 7427xp or the meguiars "DA" g110 and if so what else should i get withe either one such as backing plates, counterweights, pads and brushes thanks

you can't go wrong with either, but if i was to choose i would get the new PC. pick up a 5" DA backing plate and some 5.5" inch orange and white pads (3 of each for starters) and you will be good to go...

btw... :welcome !

Over the old PC, right. But not necessarily over the G110.

New PC- 6800 OPM

G110- 6700 OPM

New PC- 4 Amps

G110- 4.2 Amps

New PC- 5.75 pounds

G110- 5.5 pounds

Not seeing much of an advantage for the new PC

that's what i was referring to the old PC, not the G110. with the G110 it seems to be a minimal difference, but one may not know until someone actually does a side by side comparison which i would like to see...

I woudnt get either........i just go straight to the flex.If i didnt have the extra money i would just wait and save up.......cause it is that much better.

You think the Flex is safe for a beginner? Just curious since I'm in the same boat here.

well, "safe" is a relative term. If your main objective is safety, then you probably dont want a flex. But if you want correction power and safety is not the main priority, but a concern, then maybe the flex is right for you.

Its safer than a rotary, if that clears anything up.

The 3401 is a dual action, like the G110/PC but with forced rotation, unlike the G110/PC.

The 3403 is the rotary.

He has never used the flex and has no idea what it is like to use.....more then likekly.

Never used ANY orbital, but chomping at the bit to buy one soon. I don't mind the jump in price from the PC to the Flex if it's worth it, but as a novice I might have a hard time justifying it unless I'm using it constantly. For a once a year polish, it may just be too much for my needs.

Just for clarification, the new PC has a 4.5 amp motor, not 4 and weights 5.5 lbs., not 5.75. And it comes with a 3-yr. warranty as opposed to the G110's 1-yr. warranty.

Thanks! Somebody jumped on me in another thread too for my incorrect numbers.

That's what I get for believing numbers about a machine that hasn't been released yet. :D
