I understand that it is NOT good for every wash, but that it can be beneficial for such applications of a system such as Zaino on it's initial use.04BlackAV said:I think you'll find that here most dislike the use of dish soap on there cars finish and rubber trim. It's an argument in itself.

There are many alternatives to Dawn even if you aren't polishing.
Just because the almighty Sal recommends it, doesn't mean it's right.
It's really not a good idea to come on this site quoting the Zaino website.![]()

I think it's always better to wash (with whatever you use) after claying /before applying anything else. And there is a reason Dawn is recomended for the initial wash.ZaneO said:Washing with Z7 is not necessary because you are going to remove any benefits left by it when polishing.
If you are worried about bonding go over your car with 50/50 water/alcohol.
Dawn is reccomended because it DOES take everything off. Wash your hands with it then notice how dry they are. It takes all the old waxes/oils off. It isn't best for everyday use on your vehicle. Other "dishsoaps" will probably do the job too but the point is to get everything off the paint before you start. Soaps made specifically for vehicles are milder so they don't remove your favorite polish/wax.ZaneO said:If you are polishing, what's the purpose of Dawn?

Your opinion is noted, but do you have a proven sealant that you are selling? NO...Do you have the experience of such a man as Sal? Probably not. Since you don't know me and I nor you...why would YOU tell ME what to and what NOT to post? I merely asked you to answer my question with your opinion...not play God to me.ZaneO said:It's really not a good idea to come on this site quoting the Zaino website.![]()
Actually I'm reading but after claying there is usually some debris/residue which IMO should be washed off rather than polished off.ZaneO said:Are you not listening? We are talking about polishing after claying.
dternst said:You two guys, Zaino guy and oklagmcruiser, are the reason why all Zaino users are branded "Zealots".
You ask for an opinion on a forum and then disrespect a well respected gentleman because of his response? :nono [/ QUOTE]
If you are branded anything it is because of your own actions not mine. I don't believe anything I posted was disrespectful in anyway. I'm not here for flame wars or product bashing. I just merely stated that I didn't agree with his answer and offered why I thought that way, not to flame but to answer the original question in another way.
using ANY soap designed for vehicles(doesn't have to be Z7) and no you don't want to use Dawn all the time because of the reasons stated before.dternst said:Using Z7, not Dawn.

You're correct and I apologize for adding your name to the post.
ZaneO said:Okay, I lied. I'll reply to you.
I'm not playing God or telling you what to do. I was suggesting that if you detailing knowledge doesn't extend beyond the Zaino instructions, then there is a good chance you will get reemed on this website. My bad for trying to give you a pointer. I apologize.
I'm out. You guys have a great night.
Thanks, dternst!

I feel I was attacked for quoting another person's opinion. I, for one, have only used Zaino products a couple of times, but like the end result. I know there are alternative measures to remove residue...just wanted to hear his alternative measures to do so. Seems all are quick to shoot down another's opinion quickly here. If Zaino is not a product of your choice...what is? I was not trying to disrespect any of the members...I apologize for going off the handle last night.dternst said:You two guys, Zaino guy and oklagmcruiser, are the reason why all Zaino users are branded "Zealots".
