At the gas station I was questioned by some guy selling FW1 cleaning wax. If I would be interested in trying a can? He said it would clean and protect my car.

It was a misty day. Since he approached from the back of my car. I politely asked if he noticed the spherical beads on the trunk lid.

He looked and then looked at me. Said "Nice" and walked away.

50 week old Gyeon Can Coat for the win.

Hydro Silex, car not washed 3/4 weeks

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just goes to show you different people get different results. I got 2 weeks. Is your car garaged? My car that’s sits outside 24/7 needs washing after 2-3 days outside. I wash the windows every 2-3 days because they are filthy. What state do you live in?

Funny, I never really recall thinking about the beading on the stuff I used 22ple on. It just always looked clean and glossy so I guess I never really gave beading too much thought.

Nice pics, looks warm...

It does look good. Has that coating glass type look to it. One thing I did notice is that the water beading is not as tight as Cquartz or Syncro. It looks like the contact angle is in between GTechniq CSL and Cquartz. At least from the rain on paint that has 1 weeks worth of dirt.

Will have to wash it to get a real appreciation for how it’s water behavior is as well as the areas that have Finitura and VS1.

I took these a couple weeks ago during the last rain storm. This is my daily with my hood as the test panel for these Cquartz coatings that have not been topped.

Yeah it’s garaged for bout 10 hours but on road at least 40 miles a day. Sits outside all day at work. Gonna put a coat of something on it tomorrow. Will take more beading shots tomorrow. When used was it V2? Also I put on dry method and 3 coats about 5 days apart as recommended. How many coats did you use?

Washington

The reason I ask is that temperature/environment plays a big role in how long a product lasts. During my tests I had high heat, high humidity, and rain as considerations on product durability. Living in Washington you have different conditions and products may last longer(or not). I think heat/UV is a real killer where I live.

I was using V1 of HydroSilex for my review. It reminded me of BF SiO2. Same color/consistency and the durability was similar. We have no idea where PBMG sources their chemicals or what is in their products. I don’t think PBMG does theirselves any favors by having products that conflict with products in their other lines. Other manufacturers can say “this is the best product!”. PBMG can’t say that when they have four products that do the same thing and cost the same amount. I guess it works for them though.

I agree. I think heat and humidity mess with sealants more. It was rained on 60% of the time. I only brought it back to forefront because I think it deserves just dues. For a 3-4 month sealant and being new to the game I think beading for 2.5 months was awesome. Was so hard not to spray more stuff and buff. Agree with PBGM. All looks to similar and not enough constant in why it’s different. 914 so awesome as it stands alone in their products certain tire coats same. McKee’s coating V2 great budget coat options. The sio2 sprays came out too close together to think the are not all same/similar formula.

Harsh winter so far and the roads aren’t clean long enough to keep my car clean for longer than a day. Here is 4 month old Sonax PNS.
