Basic Wash Soap No Added Wax Or Sealant?

Anyone suggest a good basic wash soap that does not contain added sealants, waxes, gloss enhancers etc ? OTC wash soaps included.

I want to test the durability and looks of Z2 against Z2 Pro and a few other sealants on one hood, without affecting the outcome by using a soap like Z7 or Perls or a QD spray to renew the gloss or slickness.

Any ideas?

I tried Turtle Wax Wash and Wax, Mother's Gold Car Wash and NXT.

NXT is by far the best that I've found locally (a popular opinion) and it leaves the car looking great and very sudsy. The other two are on reserve for wheel cleening....

One that I like that is OTC is Eagle One Car Wash. But I'm not sure if it has wax additives in it. For me it does not strip the wax and has good lube and is sudsy. I like P21s wash or Perls when I want to use the really good stuff. JMHO, Wes

Thanks to everyone who offered a suggestion so far, please keep them coming.

I already own EO, Perls and NXT car wash but I thought these contained additives to increase gloss or slickness etc ? I like them all too, but here I really want a very 'basic' car wash that will not renew or refresh the LSP's in anyway. I'll take a look at the AA wash this weekend.

I would use just use Dawn, but I'd like to post the results here and I have NO desire to start another " it belongs in the kitchen" debate. Been there, done that! :lol

Something gentle like P21S should work fine (I'm sure there are others too). I don't believe P21S adds any other additives to prolong the sealant but it's nice and gentle on the finish. Gold Class might be a good OTC soap as well. Hope that helps!

I second the Griots, on Accumulator's recomendation I tried the small bottle. Without shipping its actualy a decent deal. I liked it so much I bought a gallon. Its slick and for me leaves a nice finish.

I also think the Eagle 1 stuff is a great car wash for when my car is especially dirty or when im washing someone else car. A great OTC product you can find really anywhere...

I used NXT as well, stopped only because I found it harsh on my S100. I do think however that might be my fault for adding too much at times. I really have to use a smaller bottle. The opening of that NXT bottle is huge. The griots has a nice dispenser top that allows me to measure out the correct amount. One of these days I will add a pump to a gallon bottle and be done with the measuring.... one of these days

I'd second Accumulatorâ€â„¢s suggestion 'Groit's Car Wash', it won't strip wax or sealants, doesn't contain wax etc from what I understand its lubricant is formulated from an oil-in water emulsion.

I don't see the problem with using NXT, Gold Class, EO even if they have "gloss enhancers." As long as you use the same exact soap and concentration on each LSP, the differences in appearence shouldn't stray that much from each one compared to eachother washed with a non-enhancing soap.

If that made any sense. :)
