Basic detaling kits as a Christmas gifts

But, recently I have used Stoner's Invisible Glass with Rain repellent (the purple bottle), and I really like it. It repels water better than the duragloss did, and minimal streaking when I use my wipers. I will update my thread that you found with this new information. I bought the IG with rain repel at Target for like $5.99 if I remember right...I use this on my windshield and all of my other windows too.

Spike73, I'm unable to find any Invisible Glass product that has rain repellent. I just looked at the Invisible Glass web site and I was at Wal-mart earlier tonight, this was the only product at either place:

Invisible Glass | Miracle Cleaning Products | Glass Cleaner

The bottle does kind of look purple, but it's a very dark purple. I read the can at Wal-mart, there was nothing about rain repellent on there. Was it a different product you tried? Or, maybe Stoner stopped selling the product you have?

There is an "Other Products" link on that web site. And, some of the products do advertise rain repellent, but none of them are for glass. They're like for paint. And, none of those bottles are even close to purple in color.

If you couldn't find Invisible Glass with rain repellent, would you get the regular Invisible Glass, or would you get Rain-X? I saw at Wal-mart that they do have a foam version that has "2 in 1" all over the label. The 2 is glass cleaner and water repellent. The 1 is that it's just one can.

Let me know, I'm probably just gonna go with what you suggest.

I would pick up my Microfiber's at Advance Auto Parts. My reasoning is you can get a bundle of I believe 12 for around $8. I like these towel packs for average people because they come with three different colored towels. This way you know, for example, leather cleaner is on the orange towel so you don't wipe it all over your windshield.

Or even easier I've seen rolls of paper towels called Micro-Fuse that feel just microfiber but you just throw them away when your done. I mention these because if your not an enthusiast I can't see you throwing your car cleaning towels in the wash.

Hi levander, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner...the bottle I found was at Target. It's a spray bottle. Here is a link to Autogeek who also sells it so you can see what it looks like, and you can read the product information on it:

Stoner Invisible Glass Cleaner With Rain Repellent, auto glass cleaner, rain repellent, rain repel, glass sealer, windshield glass cleaner

I tried just to copy the pic and paste it here, but that didn't work for some reason. But click on the link and it will give you the info. The rain repellent doesn't last a very long time, but IMO this stuff is better than the duragloss, and if you clean your windows regularly like I do, then it's a good product for you. If you can find the Stoners IG with rain repellent like what is in the link I sent you, I know you will be happy with it. I have always used Stoners IG for all of my glass cleaning, for the car and the house, and I love it. If you need just a glass cleaner, the IG is wonderful. If you want rain repellent on your exterior windows for your car, this IG with rain repellent will be great. I especially like the fact that you just use it like a cleaner, not like Rain-X which can be a PITA to buff off and get to be streak free sometimes...:hmph:

I've seen a lot of people say they like the aerosol foams better than the spray bottles, supposed to be easier to wipe down the foam I believe. And, I don't see the Invisible Glass with Rain Repellent in an aerosol foam even on the Autogeek site.

But, the tip that the rain repellent doesn't last long is interesting. My family's not gonna clean their windows that often. So, I think I'm gonna skip with the Rain-X and go with the regular non-rain repellent Invisible Glass in an aerosol foam. Simply because everyone on this site seems to like Invisible Glass so much.

But, I'm not going back to the store today. Let me know if you think I'm missing something Spike.

You will really like the Invisible glass. It's the best glass cleaner I have used. You have made an excellent choice!
