Barrett & Jackson: Here I come...

Wish I had your address where your staying in Scottsdale. I wanted to send you a Truth In Detailing Shirt hoping we will see you with it on TV! All the cars you do look awesome and hope the owner get's what he wants for them!
Great job Goose!:drool5:

Great work and thanks for sharing. I have a question. Why the DoDo juice on some and the BFWD on others? Is it a situation where the BFWD is better on metallics? (i'm kinda hoping you say yes...)

Dodo juice is funny name for something that people rub all over there most prized possesions.

Thanks again, Joe D.

I have an assortment of waxes I could've used.
The reason why I decided to use the Dodo Juice Wax is because I wanted to add some depth on the black finish, and decided to go with the BFWD on the lighter colors to enhance the shine.
BFWD is by far my favorite sealant. It looks great on any color. I supposed I could've used BFWD on all the cars, I just wanted to try something different, and to my surprise, everything came up aces. I'm happy with the results...

those are some mighty fine-looking cars there! Congrats on the cool gig and g/l to these things getting sold and you getting a fresh batch to work on ;)
My next car to work on from this customer, will be a 1963 Corvette (Split-window) It's getting worked on now, and should be ready this spring/summer time frame.
It's going to be powered by a Supercharged LS9 ZR1 Corvette engine! :)

I've edited the original post to add Eimann Fabrik Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner
This is what I used to clean all the upholstery.
Thanks everyone for your kind and encouriging words.
Greatly appreciated.
Angelo, I'm just going to be there for a day or so. I won't be there for the duration of the process.

Also, look for a 57 Chevy Nomad. Beautiful well-done car. It's probably the nicest one that I've detailed going to Barrett & Jackson.
It's a dark purple color and suede interior.
This car I detailed around June last year. I can't find the pics, but believe the car is a gem.

Here are a couple of before B&A pics of the truck and of the interior of the Bel-Air
I took so many pics, my intend was not to show before and afters, but to showcase these beautiful cars.
That said, here are some B&A shots...

Thanks Todd.
I've actually meant to PM you to ask you for some good carnauba wax for black colors.
I've already have Pinnacle Souveran and Victoria Red. I wanted to try something new, but I was pressing for time.

What do you think of Swissvax Todd?
I'm not looking for something too expensive, but reasonable in price. Less than $300 if that. LOL!
Thanks again!

Did the guy you did the details for create the red and black vettes him self or did he buy either at Barrett Jackson a couple of years ago? I ask because I swear up and down I worked on that red one! It looks just like the one i did all of the body work on here in an Omaha Based shop. I will try to did up the pics and post them. I had over 300 hours in wet sanding and buffing the entire car. it was incredible and just think that was waaaayyyy before i ever found this site! Imagine what it would have looked like if i had BFWD then :(

Most of his renovations are done in Grand Junction, Colorado.
I believe this Corvette was originally painted in New York for what I recall in a conversation I had with Jeff.

When I get a chance, I would find out more for you.
I did wet-sand some fish eyes and orange peel the first time I detailed this car back last Summer. This was just the area of the front left side fender around the emblem...

Here's the link for the work I did last May...

Hey Goose, I heard a couple of tents collapsed yesterday. Hope your guy had already made his deals :money:
They're all fine.
The F100 sold today for $75K and the Mustang for $69K

Tomorrow the two corvettes and the Bel-Air go on the block
Those are the higher ticket items
Also, not included in this thread is a dark purple Nomad I detailed last Summer for which I couldn't find the pics for it.
It's lot # 1315 and will be auctioned just in front of the Bel-Air tomorrow around 6-7pm local time

The "Saturday Nite" cars are the real high dollar ones. Usually lots 1200 - 1400 are the really premium vehicles that will bring BIG MONEY!

Enjoy your time there! (Wish I was there too!)

Thanks Luster!
Actually I'm not there now. I was there last week helping out, but just couldn't stay for the weekend.
My customer has two other cars that are likley to be destined to Barrett & Jackson. One it's a 56 Bel-Air hard-top and the other one is a '63 Split-window Corvette with an LS9 Supercharged engine. They'll be done this Summer.
I will definitely plan better for the next time around, so that I can get a Truth in Detailing t-shirt from Angelo!
