Baja Sol?!?!?!

I remember some member here recommending leaving it in water. Besides the main reason (it doesn't get hard and dry and therefore you do not have to let it rehydrate

Sounds reasonable, but could that also lead to it wearing out faster, it terms of it falling apart? Just speculating, let me know.

I dunno about wool mitts... Lets recall that a wool pad is the most abrasive pad (for PC at least) that you can use, and it is known to leave micromarring/swirls behind......

They do not have the most bite when washing your car, and nor do they sweep everything up like a microfiber pad. What they do well is combine a super soft surface area, with long bristles that are able to accept dirt and take the particles away from the paint and into the mitt. We've had this discussion before Ali, but I could not convince you. Have you used a high quality example? I swear by them. DavidB is one of the more popular supporters of them, perhaps he can lend a line or two of advice.

As to your wool pad comment, if you feel both, they are completely different in feel and texture. I assume sheepskin pelts and wool are different things.

The thing is, there is more than one type of "wool" pad. I believe natural real sheepskin is the most gentle, but you can have many cut grades of wool pads, like blended, synthetic, twisted 2 ply, and twisted 4 ply (most aggressive I think). Apparently there is a big difference between the most gentle and the most aggressive.

100% wool can be tufted into synthetic backings....you know shaving the sheep instead of skining it. BTW the mitts are a by product of the kill.

If you have a REAL sheepskin mitt, do the following:

Rinse out after use with cold water and allow to air dry out of direct sunlight. Do not machine wash or machine dry. Natural sheepskin mitts will not last as long as synthetic mitts but are much gentler to the paint's finish. Under normal use a sheepskin mitt should last at least one season (six months)

I've also seen people use the OXO wash brush as well.

Deanski
