Bad MFs

After installing a bumper applique on my brand new Honda Fit, I noticed the bumper was marred where I cleaned it with some alcohol and an OTC MF. I did the CD test on my MF stock and discovered most of them marred the CD. The big Target Viking MFs were the only ones that passed the test. Just for a lark, I did the same test with my CCS pads, the blue and black marred the CD a little as well.

Based on the excellent advice here, I turned to Pakshak to renew my MF stock. Bought some Black WoW too. The OTC ones are now reserved for glass and wheels. RG

don't confuse the target branded mf towels (vroom) with the viking's, they're not the same thing. vikings are high quality like the pakshak's, sonus, CG's, etc, etc...

You're right, they're Vroom, not Viking. The Vroom's didn't scratch the CD. I'll try the pads with some polish next time I dig into the auto detailing supplies.

Maybe not all CDs are created equal in the scratch resistance department.

I'm using the Staples CDs. Which brands are 'autopian-authorized' for the CD scratch test?:nixweiss

with all the debate about so and so's mf's are the best, etc.. if the vrooms passed the test without any negative issues, then by all means use them...
