My 911 is a good 2" lower than stock - and even when it was higher, I wasn't very good about keeping the lower bits of it waxed.



I had the car *way* up in the air w. my spiffy new jackstands to change the rear swaybar -- and decided to leave it up while I gave it a once-over with IHG and a fresh coat of Zymol.



Man, it was great! I could sit on my rolling shop stool & roll back & forth along the doors, I didn't have to bend over to do the fenders, the rear bumper didn't require lying on the ground. I finished in record time, wasn't tired at all, my back didn't hurt!

I would love to have hydraulic lift for my garage. It make detailing the lower sides of my BMW, (it is lowered too), so much easier.

Look at it this way -- go a little higher on the lift and you could have over & under parking!



You have the opposite problem - you need scaffolding to wax the roof, right?
 
That's a great idea. I usually rotate the tires twice a year. A perfect time to detail the lower panels.



At the end of a long day of detailing, by lower back is HURTIN'!



At my size (6-4, 280) I need all the help I can get with my lower back!

Sears -- it was kind of pricey! You can buy the same thing from Griot's, though, if you feel like paying even more ;)

Is that your jeep? I love the beadlocks. Those look like 35, or 36 inch swampers. I wheel my 79 Toyota 4x4. Now im into "wheeling" mud running my 97 Taco. Gotta love the offroad life.

Its an '84 with a 4" lift, 35's and Warns on the front.



700R4 slushbox with a shift kit (luckily) plus 4.11s in the back.



350 crate with all the edelbrock goodies, inlet, 4 barrel and billet air cleaner.

Topped off with some ceramic coated Thorley headers to twin glasspacks and side exits.



Phantom billet grille (yummy), new interior with Honda seats and an evil stereo.



Needs include :



New wheels ..... theyre a lil bit tired, plus a blown 396 or 427 BB with a TH 400 behind it.

New back bumper, but theyre pretty rare.

New tailgate as the back window seal has gone rock hard and the bottom is starting to corrode.

Anyways ....



The bodywork is soooo nice and straight i darent wheel it lol, but i would prolly trick out a Wrangler for that anyways.

Much better base chassis to work with.
 
The best detailing accessory I've gotten was a rolling stool. My mom got it for me for christmas, and its just great being able to roll around the car with that thing.

The 993 (1995 - 1998 911) has a really neat headlight design - flip a lever in the trunk & the whole lamp pops out. The electrical connection is a plug & socket assembly, no wires to disconnect. I'd removed one headlight, pondering removing the lens to clean the inner surface. Actually forgot to reinstall it for a drive over to a friend's place :o

Looks like the front springs are possibly new too???? Sway bar spring combo?



BTW the car looks great! Very reflective!
 
Man, you guys *do* have eagle eyes! It's got a recently installed Bilstein PSS9 kit, and I found that reusing the existing Euro-spec sway bars weren't compatible with the really low ride height. So had to go back & installed an RS sway in the rear.
