Backing plate issue for Rotaries

Hey there all I was on autogeek looking at pad selection and noticed that they prefer to use a 4 3/4inch yellow hook and loop backing plate for 6-6.5inch LC pads. I was over on properautocare and noticed that they prefer to use 6inch yellow hook and loop backing plates. Does it really matter which backing plate I use when I use it on a rotary?? What do you guys use and prefer? any tips, opinions or input would help. thanks!

I will be getting the new megs backing plate and it is 5.75 for use with my 6.5 inch pads i think that will be fine

4 3/4 is what I use for 6 to 6.5 inch pads
