Hello everyone, well what can I say, I nearly didn't post these pics as I have just viewed that awesome '76 Stingray :scared , however I thought since I had taken the pics of my car, I should post them, so here goes

Washed the car with BMW car shampoo

Clayed with Megs White and Megs detail spray

AutoGlym Super Resin Polish x 1

AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection x 1

P21s x 1

Ran out of light so I could not add more layers, I may well add another layer of P21s tomorrow if the sun shines and take another couple of pics ... if you think I should ?

Ok here goes the pics then!

This is the car full on from the side

Thanks for the comments everyone, its so nice when people on here comment, so thanks very much. I had noticed 90 views and no-one had commented, I thought the pics and car must look awful :o

Aletank, thanks, I use Megs Endurance tire shine (its purple and smells of fruit!) on the tyres

Gonzo, thanks for your kind words, long way to go (perhaps different products even) to get it to the standard of your friends 'vet' ... but I will keep trying :)

P21S looks terrific on black. Almost as good as Souveran. P21S is very glassy and reflective whereas Souveran is very liquid looking.

ah, yes it is the liquid finish I am looking for silverlexus, as I mentioned above I am waiting for the arrival of Zaino 2, as I figure the liquid look should be apparent from applying Zaino 2 and the reflective glassy of P21s over the top should give me the finish I am trying to achieve ? What do you think, does that sound like a plan? :)

Axe,

Everyone starts somewhere and you are off to an excellent start. As you get the hang of things and try new products, some you will really like, some will be OK and some you won't care for. Eventually you will find a product combination that "will make your eyes bleed" and there you will stay until you venture off in another direction.

I read the board a lot before I took the plunge and went with Klasse and compatables (Sonus AS and UPP). It has kept me and those I have detailed over the last 18 months very happy. In fact I ordered a 3 litre jug of AIO and 3 x 32 KSG today, but I also ordered some EX-P and some Natty's too.

My wife has discovered the K-twins too. After polishing some brass candle sticks and some fireplace tools, she decided to use AIO & SG on those to help control the tarnishing. Will keep the board advised on how the brass holds up.

GORGEOUS detail on an AWESOME Bimmer!! :bow

Something is so right with the world when I see an immaculate 3 series with Euro plates! :xyxthumbs

Here's my take...based on a 3 series I have detailed twice with black paint (pics in my gallery). There are two ways to go, a sealant route and a carnauba route...

1. Zaino I think of as a system. I would tend to go all Zaino and Zaino alone. Some people like the look but others find it a little "plasticky". I love the Zaino products but I like the wetness of carnauba wax and I don't mind the shorter durability as it gives me more reason to play in the garage.

2. I am really finding (like David Bynon who introduced the idea to me) the combination of AIO and carnauba can lead to the so-called "perfect shine". On a black BMW I would wash, clay, polish only as needed, AIO and then top with Pinnacle Souveran, wait a day or two and then top with a second layer of Souveran.

I have seen EX-P give great results as well and Natty's looks good but I am recommending the above since I have experience with the second option and I have seen a good Zaino job on black.

Hope that helps. :)

wow everyone, thanks for your kind words, it means a lot coming from such expert and enthusiastic people, many thanks.

Gonzo, thanks for the recommendation of the AIO application, I am definatly going to give that a try at some stage. SilverLexus also mentioned it, and I guess you guys know the look I am trying to achieve so I will give it a go in the not too distant future, definatly!

SilverLexus, since I have already ordered the z2 and I can get the other zaino products (except souveran) what woudl you recommend I add to the z2 to give me the 'full' zaino system?

by the way, the wheels (they are M type wheels by the way) have some small kirbing damage, will get them re-sprayed soon, there is also some 'stone' chipping on the mirrors, I will attach a pic to show you, I don't know whether this can be repaired, I am sure you people will know ... will post pic shortly.

This car is too fast for its own good ! OK so is there any product I could try to repair this ?
