nice photos, what did you use for lighting?

The model reminds me of a younger version of a local SoCal new anchor on Channel 2 CBS News named Laura Diaz. Here are some photos so you can see the similarities:

Nice work! You should sign up over on photosig.com. I took the photography classes at the local tech school. The teacher was a graduate and I think a ex teacher of Brooks. He always had great things to say about the school.

So your shooting Canon? What camera? Reason I ask is I have a 10D and am thinking of upgrading but don't want to spend much since I don't do it all that much anymore.

Not a bad attempt, but most of them are extremely washed out/hot, and slightly out of focus or your lens is extremely soft.

What kind of camera/lens did you use? I would try 'bouncing' the flash more, instead of shooting directly.

10D is a good camera, I really don't see the need to upgrade as long as your happy with the resolution and noise. To me those would be the two reasons to upgrade.

Glass>Body any good photographer would tell you.

im using a 40d with 28-135....and for the lighting ..i did all bounces with the flash...i moved the levels in photoshop to give it this look...the look of dramatic lighting...this is more of a fun shoot...not the usual headshot kind of thing

2nd on that. Your lens or "glass" is definitely a place to spend some more coin.
