Awesome deal, little of topic!

Guys this is a little off topic but it does concern guys that have to keep up a house or whatever.

I have to install a new door through warranter that has a whole bunch of screws. I went to get my trusty 12 volt (cordless) screw driver only to find the batteries would not take a charge. So I went to Lowes, $70.00 for a battery, in your dreams!!!!

I was just ready to say the hell with it! So, I thought maybe they would be a little cheaper at Home Depot.

I was looking at the models when something caught my eye. Home Depot brand, called "Ridgid" had a 18 volt 3/4 inch drill with two batteries! And, a 9 volt drill with batteries! All this with a recharging station for both!

Now get this! The parts and batteries are guaranteed forever!! That is what I said "Batteries" also!!

I almost tripped over my "Visa" jumping on this!



Anyone want to buy a 12 volt "Skill" with two dead btteries but a real nice fitted case, serious?

PS. Before anyone jumps on this, the door is not the only reason for the purchase!
 
Er... I don't think Ridgid is a Home Depot specific brand. It's actually quite well regarded, as those who have the wet/dry vac know :) Maybe posting something like this in the hot tub next time is more suitable?

I don't think so! If David thinks so I am sure he will let me know. I am not aware that the Ridgid brand is available except at Home Depot. Electronics should never be put in a "Hot Tub"! Don't you know that?

Yes they do have Vac's also, so what?

I use my drill to polish my rims and headlights with the powerball, so this could technically be the correct place to post.

I don't think it is a technical issue as much as I do an "AH" issue! This dude has some sort of power issue that he seems to "THINK" is in his domain!

Thanks for the verbal backup but I am dam sure if i did/say something wrong David will put me in the "Stocks" so to speak.



As for "Mike something 1990", pick a finger, and live with it!:woohoo: :grinno:

Wow, changeling, mellow out. I don't think mikebai1990 meant any harm with his statement and you go off like that?



Also, if you're going to go through the effort and post a "deal" and not even mention the price it doesn't seem worth it to me.
 
Just an FYI as a old plumber, Ridgid is high quality product. I mentioned plumbing because thats where they,Ridgid, really got there start, pipe threaders for gas line and so on. Once Tony Stewart was racing the Home Depot ride Ridgid jumped in to the big time with all their new product lines avalible only @ the Home Depot.



Glad ya got a deal, always makes ya feel good.
 
Home Depot opened their first store in 1979. The Ridge Tool Company, maker of RIDGID tools has been in business since 1923.



It seems pretty obvious that Home Depot is Ridge Tool’s biggest retailer but their tools are also available through a variety of industrial tool vendors. (I’m sure there are many tools that are exclusive to HD. There are also many that HD doesn’t carry.)

A bit of trivia.



The company that makes Ridgid Hand Tools was the same company that used to make Craftsman tools for Sears. Sears has since outsourced Craftsman overseas.

Well, if you want to get technical, this forum is called Detailing Product Discussion. By your own admission, the name of your created thread, Awesome deal, little of topic! (sp) it would seem appropriate to be in the Hot Tub- Off Topic Discussions. Relax, and take some constructive direction from people simply offering guidance or clarification.
 
I have the rigid 18 volt drill. (also have the rigid vac; love it) I love it. Correct me if I am wrong, but I was once told that rigid was actually made by dewalt.

Maybe I missed it, but what was the price? I read $70 for battery for old drill, but didn't see price on new set? Sounds like an awesome deal.
 
Changeling, I certainly wasn't trying to cause trouble by replying to your post. Hope you didn't take it the wrong way :) I just didn't think that Ridgid was only sold in Home Depots, because I've seen them elsewhere.
 
I wasn't able to give you guys a price on this package for "reasons" at the time. The deal was for a 18 volt "Rigid" cordless drill and a 9.5 volt drill. This all came with two (2) batteries a quick recharge station and a canvas bag all made by "Rigid" all for the grand sum of $130.00. Oh, this also included LIFETIME battery replacement!!!

Instead of thanks I ended up with personnel confrontation immediately and being banned !



So I just thought I would let you guys know that you can still get the same package only now it go's for $279.00 but without the 9.5 volt drill and batteries.

You've got issues man. You're constantly rubbing people the wrong way. And it's been more than a month since this issue came up but you JUST had to revive it didn't you? What a drama queen. I'd be surprised to see you last another 6 months on this forum.
