Avian Toilet gets Flushed

Some of you may remember my wife's 2000 Dodge Neon that I detailed some time ago and affectionately called the Avian Toilet. Well, fast forward to last week. The compressor on the Neon decided to go belly up and, after taking my wife to the doctor, it started smoking badly.

Ironically, this happened at the Ford Dealer where we eventually bought our new vehicle which is a 2008 Edge SE in swirl magnet black.

Now, the wife wants to mod it. :D

I'll have pics later today.

mod an edge? what can you do to one of thoes..

I don't know how many options are out there but everything looks better lowered....well in my eyes anyway. :xyxthumbs

You probobly got nothing for that Neon. Ironicaly I am looking for one. lol

With some mechanical know how, the 2.0l in the Neons run forever!! Almost as long as the original Chrysler 2.2/2.5s. They go beyond forever. lol

Can't say I am a fan of the Edge, CONGRATS on the new purchase though!!!

Ain't that the truth. All American cars need to ride lower.

this is true but then i think that counteracts the point of buying a higher riding suv type car :P i found a magnaflow exhaust for it for like 500 bucks.. id scoop that up

Did you get the black gloss, or carbon? Edge's look good in pretty much all the colors they come in except tan :)

Nice choice, they're nice units!

Congratulations, thats a step up from a Neon. Now just keep it away from the birds.

That won't be much of a problem in AZ since I don't see as many pigeons as I did in Chicago.

To the poster who asked about mods for the Edge, there are quite a few and the list is growing. For example, you can get body kits by 3D Carbon, swaybar kits, and even a "tune".

So far, the Edge hasn't disappointed me. In fact, I find it as reliable as my VQ35 equipped Maxima. Not to mention, it's got some spunk.

As for issues:

- Took care of a couple of TSBs. Primarily an issue where it rolls back on inclines.

- Replaced throttle body at 15k

congrats on the edge! they're nice looking and super comfortable on the inside. the black leather ones look like luxury cars on the inside. plus, they have some pep in their step.
