Yep the oil/tar truck just went by, they are paving my street this week, o joy :(Looks like tar all over the cars for a few weeks......bla

Notice how green my grass is.. hehee

Condolences.

I come from a childhood of gravel roads and much raod construction. Try explaining to your friends why you have to stop at the highway and brush the dust of your car because you just washed it yesterday.... some people will just never understand.

Hope everything comes out smoothly for you.

Oh yeah, nice grass :down

The carzy thing is

#1 The road really wasnt that bad to begin with, the pavment was a little cracked but there are many roads in town that need it way worse than ours!

#2 They now have the "oil" Like in the pic, all the way accross the road andPEOPLE ARE DRIVING DOWN IT!!!!!!! MAN THIS IS CRAZY!!!!

I think I am going to go take a nerve pill or somthing, I cant sit here and watch this horor any longer:scared

hahaha you should go out right now and put a sign infront of your house that says "Bill's Auto Detailing"....... :D :p

well, I guess only the cavalier will see daylight until this little project is finished, eh?

well I guess the good thing is that, the garage is on the alley and there is 3 ways out to 3 different streets from the alley and the little side alley it meets up with, so it looks like I can still take the SS out but man is it worth it>? I have to get it out on Sunday, I am going to a FORD car show. so we

will see;)

They wil put gravel over the oil, won't they? Not that it would make things any better!

When I was a kid, I loved it whenever they oiled/rocked our roads. It smelled great, and all of those fresh rocks were great to play with my trucks in! I still like the smell, but after getting 3 new rock chips from driving about 2 miles on a recently oiled road a couple weeks back, I can't say that I enjoy playing in the gravel any more...

No maybe the sign should say "Bill's Tar Removal"

I just did my mom's car and a buddy's of mind because they ran through that sh*t. Its sucks. Lucky I had did both of those cars about a month or two ago which helped in the clean up.

Keep that car in the garage as long as you can.

I know your pain. Actually for those of us who live in the MD/DC area, have have had a very serious issue recently to contend with. The state of Maryland has decided to repave I-95 (YEA! . . . nice and smooth roads). Sadly, in order to repave, they must remove the old road. So, every day you drive on the road there are tons of little rocks and pebbles on the road from the pavement stripping from the night before.

Needless to say, it sounds like you are driving a rally car on the back roads of some forest. It is absolutely horrible. I had a golf ball sized rock strike the hood of my car. I thought that it put a hole in the hood. I absolutely dread driving on the road. The 18wheelers are the worst, as they stir up tons of pebbles.

It is a good thing that I am getting a new car in a month (VW is replacing my current brand new car . . . long story).

Just wanted to whine a bit.

Best regards.

REDCARGUY :D

Did you ever notice the cleanest cars seem to always have the neatest yards. Thats what I noticed in your pic first....then the Evil Machines.

My neighbors use to fuss at me thinking I was insane, waxing a mower like I do.... then I told him it was 27 years old. Well He flipped out.Couldn't beleive it, Now they're starting to ask questions like, "Why do you put 2 & 3 coats of wax on a clean car already???" WHATS THE WORLD COMING TO???

Wrap the cars in saran wrap (shop vac the loose rock from in front of your place. That will really drive the neighbors nuts!!!

Happy cleaning.:xyxthumbs

Brings back memory's of where I grew up. Side street was gravel and every summer they would come by and spray oil to keep the dust down. I don't know which was better dust all over the cars, or oil and dust mix.

Keep the garage door closed until they are gone.

I know the pain you are going theough...two years ago they installed a new sewer line on one of the roads to my house...the contractor had all of the asphalt ripped up, so it was a dirt road for a while. They had to blast ledge to put in the new sewer line...one day the driller drilled rightr through a 12 inch water main :eek" now the area leading to my street was mud city! The Water Department repaired the section of main that the driller damaged...the next day, the moron did the same thing

Thwey were tying in sewer lines on the opposite route, also. I ended up driving 5 miles out of my way every day for two weeks until the projects were finished.

My wife, on the other hand, just drove on the torn up streets. I let her Explorer stay filthy rotten dirty for the two weeks ( guilt trip! guilt trip!) ...I asked her to take the route i was taking, but you know the mentality...I'm taking the dirtect route, and you can always wash the Explorer...you love doing it anyways.... :nixweiss
