YEAH!!! hehehe

I'm about a five minute drive from columbia mall as well, in the wild lake area where its close to centennial park. If its been a few years since you have seen columiba your should come take a peak, lots of new stuff.

I like the destructive revenging nature of chainsaws and shotguns, but I don't think I could get away with that :p

So nobody actually seen or delt with lumps like this? Clay doesn't work, there are no edges on these bumps and they are slick as the rest of the finnish.

I just ordered some AIO and #16 to try out, and I would like to have the bumps gone for it. (maybe AIO will get them off? :) )

There is an upside to my cars future, and its not the possibility that I will steal the driveway from mom while she is gone.

School will start soon and I just paid for a years parking at one of the parking garages at UMCP. :bow sheltered parking. My only fear is that some dumb looser drunks will decide to amuse themselves at my cars expense.

Thanks for the replies, keep them comin

I'm off to wash the car before work. :bounce

I go there often as my father still lives there. I went to Wilde Lake High School (before it got tore down)

If you have room for a car port I would go that route. One of those steel one where you can get them in colors to match your house. You can get an 18 x 20 which will fit two cars for around &900-&950.00 I live and Maryland as well and I was using a car cover but you have to make sure your car is clean before putting it on. It became a PITA. I love my carport, good investment.

I'd bet that with those bitten leaves, and black specs that this tree is invested with some beetle or bug.

A friend of mine's car had all kinds of issues with those types of little black dots and it was determined that they were bug poopie.

Have a registered arborist come and check out the tree for the sap problem. They should be able provide a treatment plan to solve the sap problem.

Well my parents don't seem to be willing to do anything about the trees :nixweiss I'll just have to keep cleaning and swiping the driveway from mom :argue

But I'm "shippin out" soon enough :spot

Whoooo! I went to wilde lake high! class of 2002

Once I get my AIO and #16 in the mail, I'm gonna have at those bumps with IPA again, I think I will try carefully heating them as well.

what other paint safe solvents are available?

At work we have a good number of different flux removers (for electronics/soldering) but I have no idea how harsh they may be on paint.

Wow, my grandfathers white taurus looks EXACTLY like that about 2 weeks after I detailed it, and you can ask Dinzdale41 bout that, we detailed grandmas car today..

the clear glob looks like some of the sap is still left on the paint. i deal with all kinds of sap down in the new orleans area and the best thing i've found for getting sap off, no matter how old it is, is XENIT from Stoner. as for the rest of the car my prescription would be as follows, especially since you can get all of that crap off on a regular basis: wash, clay, polish with 1z paint polish x2, finish with one coat of 1z glanz wax and then wash at least every 2 weeks with 1z perls shampoo. i would almost guarantee that regimen will make your life, car's life, much easier.

From the pictures it looks like either a Red Mulberry tree (if it has berries in the spring and early summer) or an American Linden (if bees like to frequent them.)

Those trees are diseased and really do need to be looked at. Call your town or conty and they probably have a program to rid them of that blight. Left unchecked long enough and there won't be any left to save.

1ST step....... Wash,clay,polish ,wax

2ND step.......Car Cover

3RD step.......

yeah, either cut that tree down or a car cover. sure with a car cover, you get scratches, but i think that scratches are easier to take care of then all that tree/nature poop you get on your car.

Try turpentine. It's derived from tree sap and is a better suited solvent for your situation. It should actually work better than IP or mineral spirits. I'd rest a towel on the spot and let it soak for a bit since the sap is so thick.

Personally I think the pellet gun and chainsaw would be best for anger management. Another approach would be to contact neighbors to see if they are having the same problem then take the whole street complaint to the city if the trees are owned by the city. You might be able to get the whole neighborhood involved at which point the cost to fix the cars up and down the street become the city's problem. They will kick and scream but a least they will know of the problem.
