Autopia V4, Phase I Upgrade Complete

Everything looks really good. I think I am going to miss the home page having all the threads on it, I hardly ever went into the forums to see what was new. I just sat on the home page and the refresh button. I'll get over that, everything else looks really nice though. Good job man

Edit: Never mind, found it. LOL. now it all looks great. LOL.

Since the upgrade I've received 2 email notifications (amongst many more) that, when I click the link which brings up the thread, the posts are missing in the thread.

I don't know if its some weird bug or, by coincidence, they've both deleted their posts before I got to them. :nixweiss

Paul, I'm not able to duplicate the problem. If it continues to happen, please forward the notification emails to me.

I found a few issues on the Review site (http://autopia.org/reviews/) does not appear to have the new block buttons links below the banner logo.

Here is a simple breakdown:

Home button - Goes to the Review site which you are already on (http://autopia.org/reviews/)

Forums - Give you a 404 not found error (http://autopia.org/.php?)

Gallery - Goes to Gallery

Reviews - Goes to Reviews

Links & Classified - Are not listed

Also another feedback item. I am not too keen on the boxes that surround the info about the poster (join date, Location, Total posts, etc...) in the left column of each persons post. My reasoning is due to this formatting and spacing (vertically), is that it artificially makes posts longer as that stack of items is taller then most posts. Thus causing a lot of scrolling and dead white space to read the next reply in the thread. Just my $0.02, as I don't remember that info being in boxes and spaced so far apart.

Okay. I'm thrilled to death about one change so I thought I'd share.

Next to the post topic in a subforum (before clicking into the thread), there's a spot on the left to click and it will take you to the first new post since you were last in that thread (Its a square with a "v" inside of it). This has never worked in the past for me and just takes me to the first post in that thread.

Now IT WORKS!!!!. I click it and it takes me straight to the latest post in that thread that I haven't seen. For example I just clicked one thread and it took me to page 2, post 23. This is so nice and will save me some time not reading every post multiple times.

:( Not for me, unfortunately. The "read first unread" feature only worked sometimes for me, and that's still the case.

Off to clear cookies, clear cache, sacrifice goat, light incense, etc. ... maybe something will heal it.

A couple issues I noticed was the product reviews don't come up when you click on the product and for some reaosn the search function is not working. Not sure if it is just my computer. Other then that it looks and works well.

I addressed in an earlier response. I will be working on it tonight.

The Forum looks better now when I have had some time to try it out. I was a bit skeptical at first, especially since I thought the old version looked and worked fine. But the new version is even better, so thank you DavidB, autopia really gives me alot of inspiration.

When I launched Autopia I had all the recent threads listed on the Home Page.

Now when I launch Autopia all those threads are gone!

How I can I view recent threads at once like I used to, or do I have to visit each individual forum?

Scott, I think I may have found a fix for this issue. I am rebuilding the thread and forum data in the database. Cross fingers and let's hope that does the trick.

Seth,

Active threads are shown in the right hand column of the home page. As I mentioned in a previous post, I will be bringing the new thread feature to the forum page itself in Phase II.

Looks nice, but as others mentioned, I miss the recent threads listed on the home page, but I am glad to read you will be bringing them back in Phase II.
